Is ms afraid to make a single player ONLY game or is it that they just want more xbox live subscribers?
The developers make what they what to make
It’s not MS. They give the studios creative freedom. So blame them.
Anyway we’ve got quite a few single-player only games coming so… I don’t see your point.

ok i get that but wasn’t old skl ms way more hands on in the creative direction? isnt that why bungie left because they never had the creative freedom they wanted?
Why a game needs to be single player ONLY in first place? I mean, it is completely possible a game to be enjoyable both alone or online. Flight sim, Forza Horizon 5, Halo and Gear for example are perfect fine games if you want to enjoy them alone, you can play them as a single player game and call a day. If you think about the latest XGS games, they all have strong single player foundation. Furthermore, if you look the track record of xbox one, a bunch of exclusives were single player or had strong single player foundation (Ryse, SSOD, Quatum Break, Recore, Ori, crackdown 3…). This argument of MS doesn’t do single player games is fallacious. Not to mention Bethesda games, that are mainly single player experiences.

Sure but… that’s the old Xbox. Under Phil Spencer, things are much different. They don’t really do that anymore.

Bungie left 10 years ago.
Also MS has the dev teams now they have so many studios its not even funny. Last gen they had fuck all for Single player devs outside of some indie studios. And most of their teams that made SP games did a bad job most of the time.
Xbox games you can play solo

That is BS in my opinion so if it is not a 3rd person action adventure you basically have no chance at game awards it stupid.

It wasn’t like in the past. It reminds of Oscars - in the past the winners were the movies globally acclaimed and even people not familiar with them would heard something about them. No? Pff.
I personally still think non 3rd person games can win GOTY’s.
They just got to be special for them to stand out and become a moment.

I would be surprised that among GT and FH, GT would probably win.
But it is fascinating how diverse the line-up of MS. I can create a slide with a lot where all PS’ in-game characters have the camera behind their back in third person, while MS has flight sim, strategy game, racing, adventure, FPS.
Last time they were at TGA together FM7 won against GTS.

Ya it’s weird how some people still call Xbox the shooter console, I guess it’s down to they only know Gears and Halo as Xbox exclusive. Xbox has games in almost every genre, whether they have big known games in each is another story. With Bethesda they pretty much own RPG land, they own shooter land and racing land, exclusive wise.
