Xbox Game Studios |OT5| DOOM posting not allowed. Except for posting about DOOM

That one aged terribly, I remember when certain people, even among journous, had that take.

Incredible how Ubisoft couldn’t get this game out when they could. Like you make THE pirate game and its been like 7 years and nothing to show for.

I can play Doom Eternal’s Ancient Gods DLC via xCloud even though I don’t own it :man_shrugging:

Yeah, they had naval ship stuff from their AssCreed series already. Like how does it fail that hard? I definitely want to see a tell-all series about what happened at every turn.

You guys are really depressing me in regards to Skull & Bones but I still have hope!!! :sob:

I was so hyped for that game… until it was revealed to be some meh MP game. I want something like a mature Pirates! with Black Sails vibes and epic battles.

My dad is so excited about MS Flight Sim haha. Bought himself a flight stick and everything.

He hasn’t been able to visit his home country in the last 20 years due to political and war issues so he’s practically giddy at the chance to show me his country via the game.

End of the month can’t come soon enough ! Super hyped about The Ascent as well.

Haha, fr

Skull&Bones was literally AC Black Flag ship mode detached and expanded, they only forgot to build an actual game on it. XD

Development hell isn’t too rare without a clear directions , it seems to me a case similar to Everwild.

Anyway, it was announced at E3 2017, we have some time before reaching the vaporware levels of Beyond Good & Evil 2, lmao.

it seems so simple in theory. take black flag, remove assassins storyline, add a pirate story instead, release.

thats what people wanted from skull and bones (even now I occasionally play ac4 and just sail the carribean attacking ships)

They didn’t put one of their top studios on it and developing a functional AAA game is no small feat, not even ripping off and copying other games.

aye I imagine all AAA are really difficult to make, but they had all the pieces available, and didn’t use them.

which studio was making it?

Ubi Singapore is the main.

Slowly improving their presence in Europe?

Nice.

Hope they show South Korea some love. A lot of fans feel ignored there. Microsoft should rectify that ASAP, could be one of the largest markets for Xcloud in the future.

This is sort of what Phil was talking about when he was on Unlocked about improving localisation. He said Microsoft is investing in this area and we should see the results in the next year or two.

Here in my country, Italy, the annoying thing is that the presence has been reduced, it’s not a start from zero thing, back in 360 and initial One days the marketing and physical presence in actual shops was real, now they limit to say “hey, there’s GP” and that’s it, the result is that general public outside actual gamers doesn’t know what it is. The further annoying thing is that Milan is their South EU headquarter and for other MS things they spend the big bucks.

I won’t hold my breath for this, we’ll see in a couple of years, MS in general follows a marketing strategy I feel out of touch.

This is a game that I dont know who actually wants. Are there really that many Beyond Good and Evil fans???

Of the actual IP? I don’t think so, the first one was a critical darling but far from a commercial success. It was the creature of Ancel, who had a huge power within Ubisoft, now that he has retired, this project has no future imo. Ideally speaking it’s not far from Star Citizen or Starfield concept (expansive and living world in space), the first to release is the first to win and it seems Starfield could be the one.
