So, you really need to run and not walk to play the Sea of Thieves Pirate’s Life crossover with Pirates of the Caribbean. I have only ever played casually in the game before, but I just had such an amazing and memorable time playing with my youngest son and two nephews through the first Tall Tale. The movies and ride at Disney World are highlights for me, and man it felt like I was living that out in a video game. This is pure magical stuff with family, friends or even going solo if you want. This is something special.

I really wish I could go to Disneyland or Disneyworld to see how hard Disney is pushing the PotC crossover with Sea of Thieves.

Not sure. Smilegate x Amazon Studios brought it to the west.

Really wish Xbox would make a first party game in that genre. I feel like it would do numbers.

They own ESO now, which is one of the biggest MMORPGs, imo you cannot build a studio only for this type of game, among the many which are released every year, almost non are successfull, people complain all the time about the low creativity in the genre, but then they play only the big names, lmao.

I hope this won’t be a trend for gamepass. You end up paying for gamepass and also all the damn dlcs.

Yeah, I think Xbox is covered in the MMO department. You don’t really need multiple MMO studios. Just one is good enough. Think Zenimax Online is making a new MMO which I expect to be exclusive. Plus they’ve gotten stuff like PSO2 to be exclusive in the west, for now at least. Only thing left is to get FF XIV, I suppose. But I have no idea what the hell Square Enix is doing with that. They’re odd.

FF14 thing is nonsense, SE is literally losing a sure revenue on Xbox, I suspect average Xbox customer would like it much more than the sp FFs.

I don’t know if it’s really sinking, every year the Kickstarter sets new records.

Big numbers for Xbox here. :grinning:

Hey would you look at that, not bad for a company in 3rd place with around half the sales of the Switch. Just look at that channel count though, Xbox still needs to get some more dedicated fans doing content, 7% influencer compared to 26% Nintendo.

Yeah also Elden Ring numbers are not as high, most viewed trailer has less numbers than FH5 smaller one between the two.

Look at Minecraft Dungeons. It seems to be a game perfectly fitted or even developed specially into Game Pass business model.

You have base game in the catalogue which offers to you some missions, a few difficulty levels and it had cyclic updates to keep your engagement with the game as long as possible.

On the other side you have various paid DLCs to extend a life of the game packed into 2 season passes: Hero Pass (2 DLCs, $9.99) and Season Pass (4 DLCs, $19.99) with every DLCs available to purchase separately for $5.99 and with 10% off on any DLCs with Xbox Game Pass membership.

  • Jungle Awakens (Hero Pass) – July 1st, 2020
  • Creeping Winter (Hero Pass) – September 8th, 2020
  • Howling Peaks (Season Pass) – December 9th, 2020
  • Flames of the Nether (Season Pass) – February 24th, 2021
  • Hidden Depths (Season Pass) – May 26th, 2021
  • 4th Season Pass DLC is still to be announced
