Playground Games started working on Fable early 2017 (Planning Jul 2016) to compete open world genre, many open world games released then such AC Origin, AC Odyssey, RDR2, Zelda, Days Gone, Death Stranding, HZD & speaking about the latter its sequel is about to release and yet Fable don’t has a release window.

I hope everything is ok with PG especially its 1st game outside Racing.

They are building from scratch like 80% of the team. Nothing to be too worried about. I also believe it got the greenlight in 2017.

I am curious of the Zenimax Online new IP is an MMORPG or something else. Seems weird for the same studio to have two MMORPG doesn’t it?

Studios like Playground and Arkane should really count as two because they are two teams operating in different buildings working on different IPs. Arkane now has started differentiating themselves with Arkane Lyon and Arkane Austin tags.

Playground hired a lot of staff with experience in all lead roles from a lot of big name studios like Rockstar North, Rocksteady, Ubisoft etc. this takes the longest time as you need to get the right personnel, the rest of the studio can fill out much faster. The Initiative is doing the same thing. Playground is one studio that I wouldn’t doubt, their mission statement is about wanting to be the best and them delivering in spades with the Forza Horizon series tells me that the Fable IP is in good hands.

This week is an example of things to come from Xbox. This is just the beginning and I dont think there will ever be a dull year for Xbox or exclusives in the foreseeable future and all of them on gamepass too.

Add the amazing BC capability and it means that if you buy a game on xbox or in the Xbox Ecosystem you will be able to play your games for generations.

I actually fully expect a smash brothers and/or cart racing like game, at some point. Featuring the likes of Doom Guy, Vault Boy, Master Chief, Cuphead. BJ Blazkowicz, Senua, Marcus Fenix, Ori, Cortana, default Dovakin, characters from Sea of Thieves, Outer Worlds, Fable, Perfect Dark, Dishonored, Avowed, Starfield, Prey, etc.

Thought about that yesterday when playing Gears 5! Could even have a Horde Frenzy-event with a DOOM-theme, hellish enemies etc. Would fit nicely!
