I think it is more because they don’t own the publisher for the game.
Xbox owns Obsidian and the IP
Yeah, but not Private Division and by extension Take Two, so they still have some say in here.
I hoped that Satan would have smaller armor, but well you cannot then have all those hitboxes lol
What’s the count on teams? I was trying to figure it up yesterday but wasn’t sure I was getting everything. What I’m talking about is even though they have 24 studios some of those studios are multi team. Examples are Playground, Obsidian, Arkane. Who else am I missing? Bethesda has a second team that did most of the work on 76 right? And on the latest podcast Nick said he just recently learned that Coalition has two teams.
I think it’s hard to count the teams must be at least 30 though.
So potentially we are looking at Psychonauts 2, Grounded, Forza Horizon 5, Halo Infinite and Starfield releasing this year. Xbox might not be able to top this year for the rest of this gen.
This is so wrong based on the future pipeline lol
future pipeline looks amazing but I doubt we’ll see so many big hitters in one year like this
If those games all truly make it this year, that would be amazing. Because not too long ago we didn’t think this year was going to be all that special, things that are not Halo that is.
They’re going to purchase more and more stuff, I doubt this would be the best year for the next 7 years lol.
In fact they’ll top it, that’s the whole deal.
2022 Hellblade 2
Avowed
Motorsport
Everwild
Arkane Austin maybe
Deathloop
Ghostwire
2023 Compulsion
State of decay 3
Maybe halo infinite expansion
Fable
And so on…
This doesn’t even take into the fact more studios and teams will be added throughout the years too, there are plenty of games we don’t even know about being made right now.
Yep I’m just working with what we have now, not even counting publishing deals for third-party.
Yeah of course, but 3 games that could potentially hit 20m+ players in one year is not going to be easy to top. My comment wasn’t so much about they quality of content but the impact on the mainstream appeal of that line up.
This year could set up Xbox for a massive generation.
Great day for Xbox studios today !
I was fortunate enough to get both systems and I would have bet that in the first year of launch (basically launch until Dec 31 2021) that PS5 would have the better line up of exclusives by a land slide. But if it’s Xbox’s lineup really does look like that, Halo, Psychonauts, Starfield, FH 5, plus all the timed exclusives and indies that they have hitting first on Xbox and on game pass And add to that the rumors of God of War and Horizon being delayed then Xbox absolutely crushed the first year. Now a lot of what I just typed is based on rumors so who knows what happens, plus Covid is still a thing so all this could be something that Xbox wants to happen but work constraints get in the way.
I’ve been waiting on Series X patches for both these games but these trailers were awesome and made me really want to play them and get the dlc. Outer Worlds got its patch so as soon as I finish what I’m playing now I’m going to get into it.
I’ve installed Gears 5 again, but I find it a little confusing. I want to only have campaign and Hivebusters installed for now but it’s already installing MP too. I can’t seem to cancel it ingame, it’s also taking ages to install it.
And at My games and apps it says Ready to start while at 100%.
Outer Worlds was up there for GOTY for me when I first played it, and I was waiting to buy the DLC until I could play it patched for Series X. I fired it up last night, and it looks and plays like a dream on my Series X with the ‘Auto HDR’ because it didn’t have HDR before, and man the gameplay at 60 FPS feels so amazing now! So I bought the DLC expansion pass that is on sale for $19.99 currently for a few more days I think, and I started the Peril on Gorgon DLC last night. Murder on Eridanos looks really interesting too.
