I feel bad for Xbox. It honestly sounds like it’s going to be a pretty cool show but we are going to know about pretty much everything before the show starts. This happens to them all the time. Fable and Perfect Dark where the worst kept secrets in the industry. Now the Starfield stuff and the Typhoon game and the Omen game. Don’t get me wrong, we’ve never actually seen these games and seeing them for the first time is awesome and exciting it just takes the wow factor away. I say this as a hypocrite who says they feel bad for them but then reads every leak that comes from any crevice on the internet and then tells my friends about them
True but we dont even know what the Typhoon game is about plus we still have Compulsion games but I get what you are saying Imagine if Fable or PD didint get leak the react would of been so much better IMO
Not just them this year to be fair. If you pay attention to Nintendo leaks than you likely can piece together a big part of their E3 show.
Yea that’s what I’m saying. Instead of oh yea there’s Fable you would get omg they are bringing Fable back. None of this really matters I just know the people that plan this stuff want to get a great reaction out of people and that’s always lessened when it’s leaked.
Ya when Matt Booty said here is one more thing most people knew it was Fable haha
Lovely…
Even if their isn’t alot of surprises their will be alot of WOW moments since we basically haven’t seen any gameplay from any game other than halo. I hope they let e3 show the games we will be playing in a years time and then have a XO21 since its the 20th anniversary of xbox to show what’s coming in the future. That strategy worked well for sony in the beginning of the ps4 era
To be fair most people aren’t going to be aware of projects like Omen because the mainstream news still hasn’t caught on yet. My IRL friends probably know nothing about what’s going on with Xbox Game Studios, they know a little about Bethesda but some people still haven’t understood the connection that Microsoft now owns them.
The average person who plays video games right now is more concerned about server stability for Apex Legends over say, what Arkane Austin is working on. Unless there is gameplay or some sort of legitimate trailer most people do not care for speculating which game console is getting the new exclusive IPs.
Just as an example of what the average person is thinking about Xbox.
Just yesterday while I was talking to my friends one of them who is an Xbox gamer he was asking me when the PS5 is going to be in stock. I asked him if he was going to get an Xbox Series X and he told me that nobody plays on Xbox anymore because they don’t have any games. I asked him if he is aware that Microsoft acquired Bethesda and he still didn’t understand what that meant and who Bethesda was. He knew them as the Skyrim company and that’s it. He was not aware that Bethesda was even a publisher who had multiple IPs or studios under their belt.
“Bethesda, isn’t that the guys behind Skyrim” - the average gamer.
He is a customer on Xbox who pays for game pass yet pretty much just sticks to Call of Duty Black OPs II, Apex Legends, Warzone and Skate 3. This is the average type of person who plays video games.
We on XboxEra are mostly outliers who play all sorts of genres of video gams. The average person just hears about good stuff from their friends and YouTubers/Twitch streamers. And quite honestly…a lot of the big Twitch streamers throw shade at Xbox. Specifically the biggest streamers like xQc and Dr. Disrespect.
I want a fantastic Starfield showing so that we can finally have a game that will just shut up the negativity around the Xbox console and ecosystem, I’m sick of the annoying “Xbox has no games” talk whenever Xbox gets brought up in gaming conversations.
I want a fantastic Starfield and Halo showing. But so many people who aren’t tuned in think all that Xbox has this year is going to be Halo and that if it fails to deliver a 10/10 experience then Xbox is doomed. It’s a stupid mentality to have especially for a company that has so many games in development including releases for this year alone.
You are tired of Halo? Play Starfield, Flight Sim, As Dusk Falls or The Gunk instead. Seriously, I’m sick of people having this mentality that the only game Xbox has is Halo, Gears and Forza.
I agree but I would also say that person isn’t watching an Xbox E3 event. We are in a small bubble when it comes to gaming enthusiasm.
You’re spot on, never forget that there were over 100m PS4s sold, but only 10m-13m of the big name exclusives were sold. That means that 90% of owners were playing COD, FIFA, and GTA. Personally I know a lot of these people, it is painful to talk games with them, but it is a fact of life.
Totally agree with this. Halo could be really fantastic, but it’s so controversial that even the thought of discussing it with purists or fanboys alike makes me want to pull my eyeballs out.
Starfield however is totally fresh and been in development for a damn long time from a studio with a fantastic pedigree, having that exclusive to Xbox consoles is crazy. I have super high hopes for it.
Played the first mission/level of Psychonauts and I’m already really enjoying it!
But I am probably going to need some help with a few things. I keep picking up these figments, but what do I even do with them? Same as the Psi cards. Right at the beginning of the game it told me I need to create something but honestly…i have no idea.
Or do I just need to follow the story a little more first?
So Obsidian with Avowed makes a FPS Fantasy RPG with stealth
Design and script engaging combat encounters and challenging stealth puzzles
and Inxile makes a FPS Shooter RPG job listing
Understand the moment-to-moment gameplay loops of first-person shooters and RPGs and what makes those genres fun
And Compulsion about to reveal at E3? https://twitter.com/CaptScarlett/status/1393293653708263427/photo/1
Avowed and stealrh? Hey why not. I quite enjoyed sneaking around in TES games too. And that Compulsion thing is very interesting.
Jez says he’s been previewing several games that he’s not allowed to talk about…?
Maybe Psychonauts
Hopefully some shadow drops at E3.
Just play the story a little further. It can seem confusing, but just keep picking up the figments and the rest will become clearer. It’s actually fairly simple, they just don’t explain it well because games having poor instructions was common in games back then.
Think it of it like this. You collect 100 figments and it increases your Psi Cadet Rank by a level. Your increasing Psi rank allows you to access new psychic abilities and buy more items from the store at the Main Lodge.
Psi cards are just another way to increase your Psi Cadet Rank. You collect 9 Psi cards and combine them with a Psi Core to create a Psi Challenge Marker. The Psi Challenge Marker increases your Psi rank by one level. The Psi Challenge Markers can also be found in the world. It’s just several different ways to increase your Psi Cadet Rank so you can get new abilities and items. Oh, and you get Psi Cores by buying them from the store at the Main Lodge for arrowheads. Arrowheads can be picked up in the world and just allow you to buy things from the store.
Yeah, it seemed unclear at first but like you said…i had to continue a little further. All is clear now. Fought the first boss and I have to say I am enjoying this a lot! It’s much deeper in terms of story than I expected too. And it’s not just a 3D platformer, it has elements of other genres too. I really like walking around the camp, talking to people, collecting stuff. I am looking forward to 2 even more now.
