Yes that’s true. However I do think that they could show more when there is content that’s good. A game like wasteland should have had had a 5 minute demo last e3. Instead it was just a cut up trailer that only showed a little gameplay IIRC. Halo 5 had great multiplayer, so did gears 5. Did we really see much/any of their multiplayer at e3? I’m pretty sure we got at least 2 cgi trailers for halo 5.
Remember gears 5 at e3 2019? The whole wwe/ escape mode mash-up. There is clear disconnect between whoever put that together and the audience watching. No one wanted to see that, and did they even show escape mode gameplay durring that? They didn’t even show gears 5’s multiplayer/horde or campaign durring the e3 before release. They didn’t show the campaign like at all pre-release besides e32018 when there was perfectly good content to show the fans
Yes it’s mostly about not having the content to show. But it’s also about format/ the odd way they present their games.
That was 4 months before release to their biggest game outside forza horizon since 2015. This is how they choose to show their biggest game, when they had a great and polished game that everyone wanted to see.
It’s odd and unfortunate. But there are many examples of where they did have gameplay demos, so I don’t get why they changed in that regard all of a sudden. Once Avowed or Fable is months from release (or a year) show a nice few minutes of gameplay. Surely this brings people at Xbox excitement when they see enthusiasm from fans. Gameplay is what brings that.
On the other hand, one insider did say this was all XGS could show last year. So perhaps they can show more now.
We have no idea when it might be announced. We don’t know Game Pass batch for this half of the month. Also it is highly possible that FFR Intergrade comes to Game Pass day one too, so it might be announced later.
Because they don’t have the developer resources to work on current/future money-hatted deals and bringing other titles to more platforms. It’s a vicious cycle.
Prog, good news is: Microsoft is investing on Xbox, hard.
We may not have some good news now, or tomorrow, but these people are working day and night for the best deals for us, we’re seeing fruits of this work these past months.
In no time we’ll have so much news that’ll talk about it for months, while more news are still coming through.
Microsoft and Xbox are ramping up for this gen, no news is being shared, but news is being made right now behind the curtains.
