I’m biased as an Obsidian Stan, but looking at how Murder on Eridanos is designed in terms of how the planet looks with a DLC budget, it makes me light headed thinking about how TOW 2 and especially Avowed is going to look when they have all the monies to spend.

If one thing I really liked with Eridanos was how good the environment looked. Also they snapped with Halcyon Helen’s character model.

What was this? I heard people mention it but haven’t seen who said it.

Basically, Ryan McCaffrey made a suggestion that Obsidian should drop all their current projects to focus solely helping with development on The Elder Scrolls VI.

Ryan said that? That is disappointing but it’s been awhile since I’ve listened to Unlocked on a regular basis.

This is such a cool part with MS having so many studios now, you could go on from working on Forza Horizon 5 to The Outer Worlds 2 to Halo Infinite DLC to Gears 6 to Sea of Thieves to DOOM then Fallout 5. This surely will keep talent retention at Xbox super high. With MS being a huge business software company too that surely helps with stuff like teams and remote working.

The people at IGN only want to create controversy at the expanse of Xbox image.

Ryan has done this before with his exclusives comment, obsidian comment and recently he had to throw in series S specifically so that the developer can make a controversial comment on it.

ryan actually just added his “kill grounded” take as a reply to an already shitty take by this other Dan guy, who’s also at IGN, who said “does microsoft need two elder scrolls type games? Just stop Avowed and put Obsidian to work on TES6”

It was just awful how both of them were continuously doubling down on their atrocious takes. When suggested why would Obsidian want to work on someone else’s IP again, this guy was like “oh Im sure a lot of people at obsidian would drop anything to work on elder scrolls” like how the fuck is he making all these assumptions, which are rather super offensive to begin with they’re being aired publicly on twitter. And continued to say “oh this is not what I want, Im just imagining what MS as a company could do” like why? Where are these assumptions coming from?

Klobrille absolutely ratio’d Ryan lmao. And Phil actually liked one of the tweets trashing that take, so you must imagine these aren’t going unheard or unseen by people at Xbox, like they know and gotta endure through this nonsense.

One thing I like about Koei Tecmo is to treat its Studios as “Brands” the company has five studios as a whole:

  • Shibusawa Kou
  • Omega Force
  • Team Ninja
  • Ruby Party
  • Gust

Each one is expanded to be a brand, responsible for couple of IPs & free to work with external companies.

This philosophy really suits Rare Ltd, hopes the team has it in near future or switch to plan (B) which is having a multiple studios such Bioware .

While Perfect Dark still in very early development stages and now Xbox has Bethesda, which Engine the Initiative will choose?

  • IDTech
  • Slipspace
  • ForzaTech

My guess it’s ForzaTech based on some reports/ rumors claimed that Turn 10 is working on PD and the later won’t has driving cars mostly, so it’s save to assume the team is helping TI with the engine.

That’s the first time I’ve heard that Turn10 is helping The Initiative.

My guess would be Unreal Engine with the helping hands of the Coalition.

Playground isn’t working on forza horizon 4 for quite some time as external team is handling seasonal updates.

That ship has sailed. They’re not going to change engines now.

That looks awesome. But the problem with Skullzi is that he does this a lot. Goes to pages with artwork and then says “could be this, could be that”, it’s speculation and its all we can do but I’m not gonna get my hopes up that this will be how it looks.
