do not say that. i really want this game
The stroy can be played like a liniear game. Unlike other games.
Part of the fun in Horizon is the world and finding actual good collectibles that showcase how the world was before it went to shit. So I dont agree that it would be better linear.
I agree. I have a 10hr mental cut off with most games. If I reach that and am nowhere near finished, the game is too long for my tastes. Iād even want an RPG to finish that quickly. I just finished Little Nighmares 2 and even then, I could feel myself rushing as I was wanting to finish it. It teetered on the brink of being too long, but just made it over the line.
I mean the story tells exactly that or not?
Uhhh 10 hours is your cut point? You missing out on some games huh
That is one hell of a problem to have in regard to gaming if you have a 10 hour mental cut off.
Not always, but yeah. I can do longer but Iām definitely with Shawn Layden in lamenting the death of 15hr big budget games. Unchartered 4, too long. Gears 5ā¦too long.
Hivebusters? Perfect.
Thatās one of the reasons I was one of theā¦three or so people globally that only ever played COD for the campaigns. Mega budget. 5 hrs long. One and done. Perfect.
Problems with long form entertainment isnāt really that surprising or odd, itās very common and is fine tbh.
Like, for example, I know Iām missing out on āthe greatness of One Pieceā but I canāt be fucking bothered to keep pace with a goddamn 1000 episode anime. I had to stop midway because I just couldnāt be bothered with these long ass anime anymore, and I havenāt felt like I am missing out on important parts of the culture. This same behavior can be extrapolated to games.
I cant justify 70ā¬ for 6 hours of gameplay glad I like multiplayer
Haha. I know. I mean. Iāve completed Ubisoftās Immortals: Fenyx risingā¦well, I say completed. I completed the demo, had a nice time with it, didnāt want any more than that and was totally happy.
I agree. I like how tomb raider or games like metro exodus are where its not open world but the areas are larger.
I think itās an age thing. My stepson spends about 15hrs a week playing GTAā¦but I tell him heās never actually played GTA. Heās playing GTA Online. I barely bring myself to acknowledge that GTA Online is even a game, let alone a good game.
Iād happily pay Ā£5,000 for a week in Maldives instead of 4 weeks in Pontins. Itās quality over quantity.
Honestly the way it is now is perfect we have a lot varity in the gaming world, nobody is forced to play OW games (Ubigames) but we also shouldnt change games for the sake of change. Some games work in ow some dont. Xbox has a very divers lineup from small to big, linear to ow games and thats a good thing
Open world fatigue happened for me after I had 100%ed Witcher 3 and the first expansion. But I am always interested in more open world games, especially if fresh and new ideas can be made. Iām hoping Fable will have some unique things.
Speaking of open world games, I would still love a Sleeping Dogs sequel. I loved that game, great combat and great story too. Why SE?
Thereās not even that many open world games that come out at the rate that you guys are applying lol. If you donāt like them just donāt play it there are plenty of other games
I donāt really have a problem with length in games, but Iāll admit there have been several games Iāve put off playing because I knew Iād be in for a 30+ hour long haul.
I think it would be cool if more studios could create 2-5 hour long games and charge $20 instead of $60.
If you struggle with long games dont try to do everything. All you miss out on is content you would ve rushed through just for completion
Im not implying open world games are bad but I think many people are getting open world fatigue. Kind of like back in the day when every game was a FPS people were getting tired of the FPS games.
I was more referring to the other guy you were replying too but I get your point
