Xbox Game Studios |OT3| Once more....with feeling (Part 1)

Yeah, if they could do something like “log into Bethesda.net with your Game Pass account and get free access to Deathloop and Ghostwire”, that’d be awesome.

I’ll play both when they come to Xbox tbh

I am curious: do we see Microsoft continuing Deathloop and Ghostwire? Especially if they are hits on Game Pass.

It would be a shame to see these IP die off due to circumstances beyond their control, and MS is going deep on Hellblade despite that being a timed exclusive (albeit for very different reasons).

Yeah, knowing they will come to Game Pass in the future there is 0 reason to buy them anywhere else. Unless you have no other games to play, and/or hate money.

If they are any good, sure. Why not? Exclusive to Xbox though.

Yeah, like Hellblade.

I’m also wondering if they’ll be on the Cloud. Don’t have a capable PC and not buying on PS5 so would be nice if they’d be on the Cloud. Could really drive it up.

I think the biggest difficulty there is that the Cloud is primarily Xbox One SOCs and will be Series X SOCs. I suspect Cloud when the exclusivity period ends, provided enough of them are running on Series X hardware.

Exactly.

Speaking of, I’m glad MS is merging PC, Cloud and Xbox GDKs. Hellblade was delayed coming to Xbox due to economic concerns, not a moneyhat. Being able to build a game for PC and port it seamlessly to Cloud and Xbox is amazing and should really help with indies. It may even make Xbox a more appealing secondary platform (behind PC) than Switch or PlayStation due to ease of development and reach.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see six months, depending on sales performance, before they come to PC Game Pass as it gives Microsoft time to negotiate out with Sony and also has a very clear window of post acquisition that regulatory agencies won’t consider it “pulling the rug out” from under Sony regarding the contract.

Yup, it will be great and removes a lot of obstacles.

They had GamePass PC integrated with EA Play, but the newest EA launcher had issues at times. By comparison, it should be cake-walk to integrate BethesdaNet with the Microsoft Game Pass entitlements since they own both sides.

Yeah, MS should somehow resolve all those issues with GamePass and launchers…

Bethesda launcher, EA Play, Windows Store, Steam…

Honestly, I have zero interest for Deathloop (despite loving the Dishonored games and Prey 2017) and also zero interest for Ghostwire Tokyo, especially after the gameplay trailer (I’m still hugely disappointed it wasn’t The Evil Within 3).

Well I was desperate enough that I bought the 1TB Series X expansion card.

It’ll be here tomorrow, and I managed to save $5 bucks.

Pricey, but it’ll be worth it for the extra storage.

Deathloop would be one of my most anticipated games this year if it was launching on Xbox. Just don’t feel like paying for it when the question is when and not if it’s coming to Game Pass. Really hope there’s some PC Game Pass loophole. Arkane are brilliant at level design and Deathloop looks very interesting to me artistically.

This is why, publishers always deny rumours of games coming to gamepass. Like control and soon fall guys, romours of game pass destroys sales.
