Xbox Game Studios |OT2| It's pronounced "Krayg" not "Kreg"

I’m a little bit disappointed there will only be one dynamic theme (in different colors) at the start. Is it really so hard to come up with a few ideas for dynamic themes? I hope they add new options fast.

Game related ones would be great. Isn’t it on PS4 like with every game you stand on by selecting it, the theme will play?

Yes. I fucking love this quote.

I bet Arkane, MachineGames and Tango got that covered. And of course Obsidian, inXile, Playground etc. But it’s great to hear him say this. Loooooove SP games.

MS should buy Jackbox games. They can’t cost much, are popular and also have the ability for massive engagement through viewers and voters. They would work perfectly for Gamepass and streaming.

Oh and I loved the part about how Todd Howard can now make the best games he’s ever made. I have faith in that guy. Some people I see having lost their faith in him and the team after Fallout 76 but that’s nonsense. And from what I heard the game has improved significantly.

Plus, I’ve never seen it as a BGS proper game.

133fps on rainbow six siege :joy:

Last look at BC for now, hopefully that means they’ll move to the launch games now. Of course, that’s all up to Ubi, other devs and probably MS too.

60fps in Fallen Order. Very nice, was waiting for this to continue my playthrough.

How interesting that Hellblade looks MUCH crisper in the 60fps mode on XSX than One X. And I have yet to play that game.

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, now 4K/60fps. I have yet to play it. Awesome! Same with The evil Within 2, not a locked 60fps but it seems close and I have yet to play that too.

Finally! I could never get this game to behave even on my dual GPU PC set up so I ended up skipping it after frustration and freezes! Even though it’s lower res and only 30 fps, I’ll give it another shot with this stability confirmation. Eventually. I have a few X|S games and enhancements to get through.

I may reserve JC3 to play in my bedroom on my wife’s Series X when she steals my theater Series X for her stupid-scary-movie marathons I don’t like, or when my shoulder surfing teenager won’t do his homework 'cause he’s too busy watching me. My wife has my older 1080p plasma set in the bedroom while eyeballing the theft of my current LG C8 OLED for “her room.”

I agree with DF, I REALLY hope SE or MS can do a bit of magic to unlock the framerate with maybe a dynamic resolution! Fingers crossed! :crossed_fingers:

Edit: I’m going to add that along with Crackdown, Just Cause 2 was one of my favorite 360 games (even more so if I take the RPG competition away since I’ve drifted from those in my years as a family man with a career).

Do you have a certain strategy as to how many projects at any given times are strictly single-player, or strictly multiplayer, or is it more fluid than that?

Yeah, it’s totally up to each studio, and I know some people that, when they’ve looked at the model around Game Pass, have assumed that Game Pass is actually a better model, if there’s more Games-as-a-Service games in the subscription. I actually argue the opposite and believe the opposite. The last thing I want in Game Pass is that there’s one game that everybody is playing forever, that’s not a gaming content subscription, that’s a one-game subscription, that’s WoW, right? So for us, having games in the subscription that have a beginning, middle, and end, and then they go on to play the next game, maybe those are single-player narrative-driven games, I just finished Tell Me Why, an amazing game from DontNod, those games can be really strong for us in the subscription. In many ways, they’re actually better than one or two games that are soaking up all the engagement in the subscription.

Excellent interview!

If things weren’t changing and Bethesda would keep releasing multiplatform games, he would have no problem whatsoever to answer “nothing will change” (as it was clearly stated on Microsoft’s blog post about Mojang acquisition). Since he stressed that he isn’t legally allowed to answer that, the reason is obvious (as we all know, except the delusional people, of course): it will change.

Once again: it’s better to accept reality.

@XboxP3 is my man! We Happy Few is full of creativity. It’s heartwarming how often he mentions Compulsion Games🥺

I’m really excited for Compulsion Games next thing and XGS in general!

  1. Knight & Bikes, I don’t think, was previously announced as coming to Xbox at all, nevermind Game Pass. That is very exciting.

  2. DO NOT SLEEP on Deep Rock Galactic!!! Hope this is a shot in the arm for the game which has had a huge player base on Steam, not as much on Xbox.

  3. Unruly Heroes looks cool too.

This is a great month.

yeah, i think GP on their platform is the only way any of Bethesda SP games show up there,

There is no doubt that Bethesda games are now Xbox games, or well…once the deal is done.

Phil makes it very clear that there are no plans to bring GP to other platforms, and the only way to get Bethesda games to other systems would be via retail or digital copies and I don’t believe that will happen at all. So while he can’t commit to words like “exclusive”, he kinda still is.

I hope they don’t lean too hard into single-player games. Especially because it seems like Sony is finally doing some multiplayer.
