Was hyped for the Safer Seas, but it looks meh unfortunately.
Happy with the slow and steady progress of Xbox on Japan. Just between this week and the last we got confirmation of a new Vanillaware game coming day 1 to Xbox and also Octopath Traveler 2 (and more, probably) coming from Square. As someone that used to be around the ResetEra Xbox thread (deleted my account due to constant doomposting and also the general negativity and toxic aspect of that forum on everything and all consoles/pc) it’s funny to see how wrong people were on most stuff lol
From 2021 to 2023 it was like:
Atlus stuff: Persona 5 is never coming to Xbox. It’s just ports from 3 and 4 coming to Game Pass. (they came) Actually, the old ones are coming but the new ones are not. (Persona 3 Reload leaks) Only the remake is coming, the new things are not. (Persona 5 Tactica and Metaphor Refantazio are officialy announced at an Xbox show) Uhhh Persona 6, though, is not coming (pending)
Capcom stuff: Street Fighter 6 is not coming, Sony locked that one (it came) Ok but Dragon’s Dogma 2 is probably skipping (it is not) well but Ace Attorney is never releasing on the platform again because of low sales (the new ones are coming) but Monster Hunter? (pending)
Square Enix stuff Nothing from them is ever coming to Xbox again (to be fair i believed in this too lol) Dragon Quest The Adventures of Dai is coming (this one does not count) FFXIV gets confirmed with all the bells and whistles and getting exp packs day 1 (this is the only one because it’s an MMO, the SE CEO was mostly lip service) Octopath Traveler 2 gets announced (well they paid for this one, nothing else will come) (pending)
lol. i actually agreed with some of these takes (never thought i’d see metaphor refantazio on the xbox show or SE back at supporting Xbox!) but it is still funny nonetheless.

It feels like there’s no incentives to play Safer Seas if you’ve already played a decent amount of time and for good reasons : they don’t want to sacrifice their playerbase. But for those who are starting the game, they can learn to play solo or with friends without the pressure of MP. It is intended for newcomers, definetely. It’s a training mode basically but with some of the progression although it’s slower.

What were you expecting from private servers that would really wow you?
Well, like I said in the news thread:
I had hoped the Safer Seas wouldn’t cap progression since it gives no advantages in the PvP anyway. I wanted to be able to have Sea of Thieves as a podcast game, chilling and just slowly grinding away at the achievements.
At least now I can finally convince some friends to jump in and do the Tall Tales. Everyone I know quit the game due to the trolling.

Wonder how far along it is then, if they are at this stage. But I recall Todd saying the same about Starfield, being able to play from start to finish and it was still another 1.5 or even 2 years. But of course Hellblade 2 isn’t that far off anymore.
I find it funny that FH4 is 7 spots higher than The Crew Motorfest 
FH5 is 18 spots higher than FH4 on most played.

I have a feeling they tried the trial and thought “Man that was fun. I heard FH4 is the same but more. I’m a core member, so I’ll try it out now.”

I completely forgot about it being added to core that’s probably a good reason why, tbh Ubi just wanted to make a FH clone for PS5/4 and might as well release it on Xbox as well.

This basically. There is clearly a huge market for this type of racer and a huge install base that doesn’t have a credible option from what I can see.
