One thing that really caught my eye in the previews was the openness of the zones. They seem larger than I anticipated, especially when compared to outworlds. I am starting to get really excited about this one.

Are Avowed, South of Midnight, DOOM The Dark Ages, Fable and Gears E-Day really all releasing next year ?

Gears? Was that said to be 2025 in the trailer? Here I was of the impression it was likely a next gen launch, lol. That would be an amazing year.
I really hope they can make it out in time before the behemoth that is GTA VI arrives. Nobody wants to launch even near that.

Idk so that’s why it got me thinking.
Watch some of those get delayed in fear of GTA VI and then Rockstar delays it into 2026. It’s something I can easily see happening. Nothing is guaranteed in this industry, lol.
Avowed is obviously a lock, and I really hope Fable is too. The wait has been long, very long and I can’t wait to go play it.

Correct me if I’m wrong but the current Xbox output is like 90% single-player, first of all it’s awesome, and it shows a clear reaction to people’s demands from back when it seemed to many that all MS invested in was mp/live service (even though that wasn’t completely t true). To me it’s just insane to suggest there hasn’t been great improvement to first-party since then, anyone who thinks that is on the purest form of bad faith. Still things to optimize and it’s not been without without hurdles, but being generally excited for Xbox 1st party is at its highest since the 360 if not more.

You are right, most of the new projects we are seeing are single-player and that does seem to be reactionary from the Xbox One era, I am all for this as that is what I love to play. All of that takes nothing away, as they are not making less multiplayer. This truly does feel like a return of the early 360 days, the large difference that we know of is this time around they are not partnerships that will slip away, MS owns the teams now and has options on continuance if games are successful.

Out of the 18 announced unreleased games thus far starting with Indiana Jones, at least 14 of them are either purely single player, have a single player campaign or allow you to play solo. With Microsoft dominating with live service games, it’s not like they need any more which is great for the single player gamers such as myself. 
This generation will be the best Xbox generation for me personally because Microsoft is finally giving me a shit ton of games that I actually want to play. In fact, this generation will beat out the previous three gens combined for me in regards to how many Microsoft published games I have completed.
