Xbox Game Studios |OT12| The One with Starfield and Activision Blizzard King

The MC is a godlike. That’s actually surprising.

Damn I don’t know why i doubted Obsidian. It may go back to last year’s E3 trailer but for some reason i had the feeling this wouldn’t be a “proper” RPG from Obsidian and boy am i glad to admit i’m wrong! It shows how hard it is for devs as they only get one chance to make a good impression and i know after the first reveal there was a bit of mixed feelings but at the same time Avowed has shown how a game can go from strength to strength with each new showing and as development goes on. I’m absolutely loving everything we’re hearing and seeing about Avowed.

Third person?

Yooooo, awesome. Love it when games gives those options. Didn’t expect that from Obsidian.

Metal Gear and Indy deep dives? Awesome

At this point, all I need are release dates for Avowed, Indiana Jones and Towerborne.

We have Avowed on November 12. Indy has to be December considering COD is October 25, unless it releases early October.

I’m actually surprised we haven’t heard more about Towerborne as I thought it was almost ready.

Metal Gear is tomorrow? Same time as Avowed today probably. What time was that? I missed it.

They pulled the November 12th release date from their website. With Assassin’s Creed Shadows releasing on November 15th, maybe they’re picking a different date. No new information on Towerborne which is surprising. Thought for sure that it would be at the showcase.

Could definitely see them moving it due to Assassin’s Creed. They have a stacked holiday unfortunately, would almost be better to delay at least 1 game into the early months of 2025 or have a late summer drop in August or September to be honest.

So Avowed is confirmed for November, right? So we likely get a real date for Indiana Jones too this week.

Agreed. I’m really surprised that Flight Simulator 2024 didn’t get an August release date as I thought that would be perfect for it. We’ll see what happens.

It probably wasn’t ready. I think people forget that games take time to make and polish for release and sometimes target release dates slip because of bugs and/or other issues.

True. I just wish that Microsoft would spread out their games. Even if they have to hold a game or two like Nintendo does, do it. Get to that one first party game release per quarter that they’ve been saying for years and spreading them out would do more for Game Pass because spread out, you’re more likely to sign up long term.

No, was a mistake in a blog. No confirmation yet.

Maybe they are not confidant over what games lauch around november and are taking their time to see what it has. That’s my honest guess.

Hmm, you know doesn’t seem like it would be hella wise to make a partner preview within the next two months? You know like a seasonal thing. It could work well, in my opinion.

Feels likely that Xbox is in full on “if you give a date that’s the date, so take your time to make sure it’s right” mode. No reason to commit until you are certain.

I was more on the line that they are waiting to see what game release on November to see if its worth putting that timeframe. But your opinion is not far off as well.

and my interest just went up.

To me, Fable looks like a title with AAA aspirations and so I think it’s reasonable to assume that all hands are on deck for that title and we won’t be seeing FH6 for a while.

Which is fine considering that FH5 has received an incredible amount of post launch support going well into this year. The wait will definitely increase anticipation and by that point PG will be well versed in ForzaTech 2.

And if it’s in Japan the roof is going to come off, for sure. Do the trailer right and non-racing fans will even go nuts.
