A lot of y’all really went into them being acquired by Microsoft. Think you’re going to get God of war if ninja theory did that Then it wouldnt be hell blade. It’s praise because what it does with storytelling in the whole idea of psychosis in the headphone situation. You can’t get that with these super crazy combat and then try to do the slow moments. It’s jarring and remember this one from a team of 15 to 80. Doing it look how many people have to do. God of war a lot less people bro
To be honest until recently I also wasn’t that into Hellblade, but when I replayed it I really got what it’s about. The use of sound is brilliant, there was a section where you had to navigate your way out in the dark and you were guided mostly by the sound, damn was it an incredible use of this medium for both gameplay and storytelling. If you want something like God of War from Xbox that’s fine I’d like that too, but I won’t judge Hellblade for not being that.
Get your story straight, you can’t pick and choose when and where reviews matter to suit your argument, buddy.
Xbox has earned the benefit yes, their games are high quality releases and I’ve been putting time in pretty much everything they release. If you let the hive mind get to you and believe the crap IGN says that’s on you, but the games they put out are great and successful and will continue to be as they have an incredible staple of developers who keep on delivering year after year.
What does Sony first party have in store for you this year? As far as I know, 0 games, maybe 1 or 2 remakes (again) according to rumours), which it seems is all they are capable of this gen.
Hellblade 2 looks amazing. I’m expecting the combat/gameplay to have more depth to it than the original game. Combat looks better but im not happy that there doesn’t seem to be any dismemberment or decapitations. Not going to lie, doesn’t matter what game it is but slicing an enemy with a sword through their body and none of that happening does remove some of the immersion for me. I would like to see a 6 minute or so walkthrough with combat in an segment part of the game instead of just bits, pieces and cuts. Of course, im not the biggest fan of the original (8.0/10 for me and that was being generous) but even more than the combat, I hope the puzzles are much better or more varied. Hated having to do a bunch of “shadow” puzzles in the first game once I got past the first two or three of them. On the positive side, it’s day one on Game Pass so for me at least, it will be a cheap $11 monthly rental.
Please do not engage in list wars. Its the lowest of low discussions.
There a reason u left ResetEra and came here? Lol
Funny how I enjoyed Redfall and finished it, and I think Forza is one of the best looking and most enjoyable sim racer on the market right now.
Also he completely omits Starfield as well as HiFi Rush as if they don’t exist.
Also who cares if Sony has 3 games in the beginning of the year, MS has tons coming out in the back half of 2024.
And imagine looking at 1 month of Helldivers 2 thinking it’s the next coming of Christ when Palworld did even better numbers and had 0 marketing.
Personally, 2024 has been great for me game wise. Sony has a stacked first half while Microsoft has a stacked second half. Add in the third party multi-platform games and I have a year that could match and potentially surpass 2023 for me.
If they were to acknowledge those games their argument would fall apart. Thats how it works.
Yup.
I’m kinda glad I don’t have a PS5 yet, because I’m busy as it is with many Xbox games. Nearing the end with Sword and Fairy 7, but then Doom Eternal is left, Starfield, basically all the Yakuza games because I’ve been away from 0 so long I might as well restart the story, lmao. Ni no Kuni, Tales of Arise and it goes on and oooon.
Do Ni No Kuni next. You will not be dissapointed.
Isn’t the grinding really bad later on? I read from some posters on Reddit they found it had difficulty spikes and lots of grinding.
I do remember putting Tales of Vesperia at easy after several hours because of the amounts of grinding.
Ditto. Feasted with P3R on gamepass.
Having the most fun I had on a multiplayer game in years with Helldivers 2 and currently playing FF Rebirth.
I’m well fed until Hellblade 2 comes out.
Well, there is plenty of ways to grind. I mostly try and do every side quest i can along the way because that way is easier to grind, there is also an area like place that if i recall allowed grinding as well.
Now if you were to tell tell me to grind in octopath traveller, yelp let’s say if you think Tales of Vesperia is tought to grind you have not seen Octopath traveller.
Good to know. I’ll steer clear of Octopath then.
Thanks man, I will probably start with NNK after Sword and Fairy 7.
Excited to see what’s coming down the pipe. I think MS is timing Next gen perfectly with a 2026 launch, It will get GDRR7 and what should be a big step forward in RT performance even if they stick with AMD. Will be a massive leap over what the PS5 pro capable of despite only having a two year gap. Gears as a launch title could blow everyone away
I still think it’s too soon. 2 years of power only to be supplanted by the PS6 specs for the majority of the generation.
Ps6 won’t be that much more powerful, the RT advancements will be slowing down, and the memory will be the same. Plus the next xbox will probably come even sooner, right in the middle of the ps6 lifespan
