Aside from any QA teams, I don’t really see their two groups having a ton of overlap. This isn’t impossible but I don’t know that it’s likely.
Same, all the games up until 5 including the original took 2 years from concept to launch, I can’t see 5 years at all. Personally the latest I see FH6 coming out is next spring. If they were going to delay releasing the next one, I’d hope to have heard of another major dlc for 5.
Yeah, agreed. Ralph Fulton went over to head Fable and I think that’s when Mike Brown (who went to run Maverick) stepped up to head FH creative. But that split seemed to be before fh5 launch I think?
This is what happens when fanboys overhype a successful(finally) GAAS game that is published by their favorite company. I played it in my friend’s PS5 and it is a fun game but it’s not a game that didn’t exist back then. Outriders had a similar concept and it was popular in Steam too, it was just kinda low budget and not published by Sony lol. Who knows, maybe PCF’s Xbox game is similar to this, and even the Coalition could make a game like this in a Gears universe( it’s a perfect fit).
No, I agree with you, I would love Halo spinoffs more than anything as a Halo fan, just really speaking about the whole “this game is popular, Xbox or whatever publisher should make games like this” kinda thing. However, a ODST game like Helldivers 2 would be cool.
They couldnt even get a full Halo package out 6 years after Halo 5 launched. There is no planet them focusing on multiple projects at once would’ve been a positive.
… because the law makes them. And let’s remember the majority of the devs working on these games at Xbox’s main development studios are not contractors.
The hype machine can do a lot of things. Look how high New World reached and how very few players concurrently are still playing it; barely 10k concurrently per day but game peaked at over 900k concurrently. Games come and go, we are in February and realistically haven’t had any major releases that have gained traction due to poor press reception, which is why smaller titles like Palworld and Helldivers 2 can shine. Skull & Bones I have no idea if it’s selling well enough, I guess that was THE only major release that just happened but as usual, the press is going hard on it and that’s probably not helping although I’ve been playing all weekend with friends and having a blast (thank you game sharing so I didn’t have to pay a dime!).
Sony has done a lot of publicity for their game though, I’m sure that’s helping as I’m seeing ads for it everywhere!
If the next generation Xbox console is releasing in Fall 2026 then Forza Horizon 6 being a full on next generation only launch title would be great in my opinion.
There is zero chance FH6 is a next gen only title, hell, y’all should be expecting very little if any next gen only titles for a long time time after next gen launches
If you were upset about all the cross gen titles this gen, it’s only going to be more and more cross gen going forward, especially with GP being a thing now
Games are too expensive and take too long to make to be only releasing in one place
I didn’t want to go that far but honestly, I think you might be right, PS6 will be the same, the costs are simply becoming astronomical and starting from scratch every gen just doesn’t make sense anymore
