People can correctly cite console wars & gross exaggerations as valid reasons to dismiss bad reviews (& also personal taste does account for a lot of stuff, i.e. I’ve enjoyed games with low metacritic scores before, like Ryse). But ACG is usually pretty lenient & honest as well. So… yeah, I think Xbox fans need to take a deep breath on this one.
The fact there’s such a strict review embargo in place (& gameplay footage embargo) merely hours before launch is a serious red flag. I mean we all know how this works.

I mean lol, the game comes out in a few hours. ACG is one of the most benign youtubers without controversy or console wars. It would look really, really bad if the guy is blacklisted over this.

There was a reason why I went from low to mid-80’s to mid-70’s and it’s because that’s exactly where the game will land for the majority and at the end of the day, it should have been delayed to 2024 to clean up a lot of issues. ACG is one the better reviewers out there because he doesn’t hold back which is what a reviewer should always do. And 11pm EST review embargo which is 3 hours after the game releases tells you everything you need to know in my opinion. UGH. At this point, im just hoping that I enjoy Redfall as much as I did Far Cry 6 and I’ll be content with it and also look forward to Arkane moving on as quickly as possible.
I mean… knowing how a clock works is very, very basic. You can’t do that, how are we supposed to take anything else you say or do seriously?

I watched his review. A lot of complaining about graphics and PC performance. His issue with bugs suck.

Yep. It would be funny if the embargo says 11 EST but forgot to include AM/PM. LOL.
I like his scoring system. I now suspect that might be because numbers is… hard? lol
Considering how sloppy MS has been with Redfall, I wouldn’t be surprised lol.

The fact Xbox messed up by not having a AAA exclusive since December 8, 2021, can’t be helping Redfall and Arkane Austin for sure. They have a ton of pressure for (in part) external reasons to the studio.

Yeah it’s shame there’s gonna be so much extra pressure put on it because of Xbox having nothing major for so long
I dont even care about the scores, I just feel bad for Arkane, spending 4-5 years on something that feels it’s going to get crushed in reviews can’t feel good
Hope the studio can just move on, recover and focus on the next thing

Yep, seems low 70’s might be a good thing after all based on these few reviewers.
I don’t know what to think watching this honestly, and it’s not just that, every single combat in that full video is “WTF” material, at least it looks like there’s going to be laughs on coop

Unpopular opinion:
MS should have announced and released HiFi rush in June showcase.
It could have been a game changer saving us from the shit storm in May after ATVi disappointment and could end these ‘xbox is bad’ stories once and for all.
Also, a good start for the next phase of game lineups.
What a pity they released the game in January and now people already don’t remember it.
Sometimes this place reads like the worst corners of the internet and I’d hope for better, a real shame.
