I know I’m doing people’s heads in, but I feel like a Spurs fan watching their players get outplayed and out thought while you keep hearing from the top brass how how they’re investing have a world class stadium and training faculties but you’re not seeing the results and its like the players have given up , but have the promise of things will get better.
I can take losing, coming 2nd or 3rd place, but I like to see my players fight and try and at the moment, its like MS/XBox have given up. Its not just the trolls on social media either, when I got into gaming shops the PS5 is there in the prime slots , while XBox plays 2nd best and in the UK one can’t even use the out of stock comeback either. At the end of the day I want XBox to do well and sell well, I love the brand and the Series X is the best console I’ve owned since the Saturn and I haven’t gamed so much since the 32 Bit days
I hope for a big fightback in June I love it when my teams are doing well, childish I know, but that’s me . I still love the school yard Mega Drive Vs Snes days
Yeah , I’ll stand by my statement of messing up last gen put Microsoft in a bad place going forward because last gen was about building digital library.
Its an uphill battle and I feel exclusive output will help Microsoft close the gap. However, its not shocking if PlayStation continues to dominate in sales due to built up digital library and people want to play where their friends are playing
On the opposite side of things though, growth of subscription services will make it easier to switch between ecosystems because you’re never starting from scratch.
Thats interesting because this gen could be about subscription service because ive noticed more and more are subbing to ps+ extra. This could result in consumers spending less and being less attached to an ecosystem .
Game pass helps MASSIVELY with this and it’s an often not spoken about being a big plus being a new fan to Xbox. Having every XGS title, Bethesda and soon to be hopefully Activision means new customers will have an instant collection of hundreds of AAA high quality games from the get go. Obviously that doesn’t help for stuff like Ubisoft but you do also get EA as well so older titles like BF could be replaced.
I get that but the thing is they only started this whole movement to actually try in 2018 and every single studio they bought from them onwards were working on titles already. This means as of right now it only has just started with Hi Fi Rush.
Games are taking longer and longer so that’s why it seems like nothing has changed and I know people keep saying next year and so on but when people say this now there is a reason behind it and it’s not just coping.
This year should be the big reset for Xbox where they start to push with content, HFR, Redfall, Starfield and Forza Motorsport is a great start. That’s 3 “AAA” games and a smaller one in 12 months which is great.
This doesn’t take into account all the GaaS updates either which keep people trucking along, just look at the juggernaut in FH5 how that game hasn’t left the top 10ish since launch is crazy to me.
If this happens please let it all be on UnrealEngine 5, man, I’d be down for Xbox classics remakes, such as Gears 1, Fable 1, Morrowind and Halo CE among many others but those 4 would be a dream come true.
Imagine a reimagined Halo CE on UnrealEngine 5, same story but with new missions and lore from the book “The Flood” more open, weather effects, day and night cycle etc, that’s a way to “revive” the Halo brand IMO, hope it happens, launch it exclusively for the next gen Xbox.
I don’t doubt it will be. Remaking Gears 1-3+J, aside from being a good package in itself its literally tons of skins and maps to be easily dropped into Gears 6.
Noticed Phil has been playing Pillars of eternity, that franchise’s universe will be where Avowed takes place in, it doesn’t necessarily have to be because of Avowed but it makes me wonder, could Phil be getting ready for Avowed in some way? Perhaps getting familiar with the universe.
Oh this could be some sort of bonus for Gears 6 if real, iirc they did this a few times last gen with some games, I think you could get Fallout 3 for free with Fallout 4 on Xbox, Gears 6 is one of my most anticipated games this gen due to the crazy tech Coalition will probably push with it.
Nintendo is selling very more than sony in their home country, and nothing is dooming about it lol
MS can’t have that others has: Nostalgia, if you start a gaming business very after the two big, probably you don’t have chance to surpass the console base of both, unless if they do a big mistake (like PS3).
Also re: Gears collection, I was re-listening to an E3 coliseum interview from 2019 where someone asked about bringing old ip back, and Matt Booty alluded to them planning to do some more in the next few years. One point he made was in reference to MCC, so this does seem a possibility, even though the question was aimed at more ip that hadn’t been touched in a while.
Perfect Dark and Fable are among my most anticipated games, especially Fable, I really have a lot of trust in Playground to make Fable into something spectacular, imagine a high quality Fable with Hogwarts like visuals, oh boy!
I really hope so. I would say it’s way overdue for a real reveal now. Last thing we had on it was last year, the very small and low quality leaked screenshot of the game. Really hope they are finally ready, so that a 2024 release sounds actually realistic.
Original Hellblade launched on a Tuesday 8th in August 2017, this year’s August 8th will also be a Tuesday, could be a cool release date for Hellblade 2 if it’s ready for this summer.
I fully expect an Avowed reveal this year with a release window, Hellblade 2 gameplay with a release date, news on Everwild and Compulsion’s new IP reveal, if those are unreasonable expectations then Idk what to say, seems like the least they could have at the show.
That plus hopefully some news on what Machine Games is working on besides Indiana Jones, but Bethesda has been carrying the last few years so I won’t be upset if they’re not at the show, it’s time for Xbox game studios to show us what they’ve been doing all these years.
