Xbox Game Studios |OT10| Here are the games

Yeah the 12 month thing has to go. It puts boring limitations on what can be shown, and now no one will believe it anyway.

As for what I think we’ll see:

  • Hellblade 2 (Gameplay, release window)
  • Avowed (Trailer, release window)
  • Compulsion game (Trailer)
  • Contraband (Trailer, release window)
  • Kiln (Trailer, gameplay, release window)
  • Perfect Dark (Trailer, gameplay)
  • Forza Motorsport (Trailer, date)

And a lot more of course. Hope the ABK thing closes and we get an epic Game Pass drop.

Agreed. I can see Stoic’s game being shadow dropped during the Showcase if it’s ready. What exactly is Kiln though? Never heard of it or is it a code name? I don’t however see Compulsion’s game being shown. I think they wait until 2024 to reveal it.

Kiln is a multiplayer Double fine game. It was prototyped in amnesia fortnight (game jam) 2017. 70% of the team wanted it to be a full game. Microsoft trademarked it last year. The game was put on hold to help get psychonauts 2 out.

What @Chosen said on Kiln. As for Compulsion, I think a cool reveal teaser-trailer thing could be there. Belfry… yeah maybe.

I just want to know what sort of game contraband is.

Oh, okay. Thanks for the info. Didn’t know about it until Mort posted it. Will probably be Double Fine’s next game then.

Maybe for Compulsion but with so much announced already and needing to see gameplay, I can see Microsoft holding off on that one. Release several games over the next 12-16 months and then reveal a few new games in June 2024.

We’ll see about The Wandering Tower. I really want to see it.

Yeah, I just want to see everything…

Since the Spacer’s Choice Edition for The Outer Worlds looks to be bad, I have a few questions regarding the original 2019 release.

Is there an 60fps option for Xbox Series X? Also, if I buy the two expansions but play the base game on Game Pass, will I still be able to access the two expansions or do I need to own the base game? Thanks.

How is it bad?

As for accessing the expansions if you don’t own the base game and no GP-sub, I’d say no as at least one of them is in the middle of the game and I don’t think it works like that anyway.

How bad is bad? I’ve read a tiny bit about it performing less than optimal, and saw a post here about B.S. priceing even for updating a currently owned version.

Maybe a better question would be: is there a spoilerish free article or video on this? I played the main game once, but planned to revisit all DLC in a full replay with different approaches.

It seems to run poorly, in some aspects, is said to look worse and just seems like a cash grab from Take Two Interactive. Just doesn’t seem like it’s worth $60.

The game was patched to run at 60, and you don’t need to own the game to play the DLC.

Nice. Thanks Proven.

As in GTA trilogy bad, or coming in hot and can be patched up bad?

It seems to be a relatively minor touch up that is overpriced and has pretty noticeable performance issues on all platforms.

Eww! Definitely waiting for some updates and a sale, then!

What, how?

Edit: Nm I’m tired lol. Misread Peter’s question.

It’s the sort of game that will be on GamePass. :sunglasses:

Have a look at the Game Analysis thread, where it was already talked about and some pics of how bad the perf is. Start from this post and keep reading:

Since it was on sale for $20, I bought the 2019 version of The Outer Worlds and for $19, the expansion pass. Will be a game I play during the summer since im expecting July/August to be slow/weak for me.
