What makes it worse is when these unannounced leaked projects get canned or things change, people kick up a fuss when really they shouldn’t even known about it.

Really wish Jez would just be like “looking into it”. Not sure why he guesses.
The job listings say they are bringing it to console and PC. The lack of detail isnt telling either way.

Best to wait for announcement. For now, we know the game exist and don’t know the title and platform.
It’s a little frustrating, because we were sold IOI’s new game as an Xbox exclusive, we were even told that IOI was going to be acquired by Xbox, only to end up being told that IOI might not have never worked with Xbox lol
I think I’ll do like some of you and stay away from this insider information and just wait for official announcements.

Yes, it also puts a spotlight on the leakers and their sources… This almost falls into the category of I heard this guy on the bus say Xbox is publishing a game. What sort of quality is that lol?
Nah, I stopped listening a while ago and this just reinforces my belief that leaks are just bad and unnecessary.
On the other hand, remove leaks/rumours and the ABK deal and the whole Xbox influencer sphere collapses. Wish it was more about games tbh.

It’s entirely possible that initially they wanted to work with Xbox but because of unknown reasons it didn’t work out. Anything is possible.
100% agreed with those saying these insiders should just not even bother sharing it when shit is this far off, uncertain etc.

Possible but the rumors with IOI lasted for 3/4 years, that’s quite a long time. Well, we’ll see. I’m just going to disconnect from all this and wait for shows and official information.

“Hints” are not confirmations that an acquisition is happening.
No one ever confirmed anything, but your memory is short if you don’t recall the usual group of insiders having IOI on every list of possible/likely acquisitions for a long time.
We were also told (by various insiders) that IOI’s relationship with Xbox was so tight that MSFT had built IOI’s new facility in Barcelona and was funding the team there to develop Project Dragon.
I always took all of that with a grain of salt, but Jez and others were really running with the Xbox/IOI stuff.
FYI, this is not intended as a dig at Jez. I like Jez and am a patreon of the Xbox Two. But I definitely think he gets ahead of himself sometimes on leaking/reporting stories.

I think it should be obvious at this point that Jez’s sources are solid as far as Xbox upcoming projects and that’s it. And he never directly said MS was indeed acquiring IOI, just gave a vague statement. I mean, we all believe it’s a possibility and maybe even talks along those lines have happened… but that’s far away from confirmation.
btw, I’m not trying to defend Jez or anything but parsing his language, he never gave anything close to acquisition confirmation with regards to IOI. Maybe he hunted at it, but that is not confirmation.

If Microsoft truly get Starfield out in June I think it definitely sets a tone(if that’s the right word) for future releases. Some have big doubts because no way would they release such a big game in the same month as Diablo 4, but it would show they really don’t care about that all.
