Ironically these are the games that I get disappointed about when they don’t come to the Xbox version of GamePass! Lol.
I’m interested to see over time how committed they will be to it?
Wouldn’t surprise me to see this come to GamePass in the future. Publisher specific channels for an additional monthly fee would be a nice addition. Microsoft could run the “base channel” for a few with all their first party and third party deals. Major publishers could then publish day and date under a similar system.
Google Stadia looked and sounded incredibly promising too, but they overpromised and underdelivered. But I definitely am curious how Amazon is gonna do it. I’m sure they can beat Stadia, but can they become true competition for XCloud? Amazon says 4K/60fps tot select titles, does XCloud offer this already?
I wish it would, considering I’m planning on buying 3 Ubisoft titles in a 3 week period this fall!
xcloud doesn’t offer anything beyond 720p and only on android right now lol, they slacking. Those One S blades need to get thrown out and replaced by Series X ones ASAP.
I’m looking at at least two myself.
I don’t think even major game publishers have enough content throughout the year for their own service… Not to mention access etc. But they could definitely be part of something else.
I actually think the biggest barrier would be that MS has to get first party to a place where third party AAA titles being under an additional plan wouldn’t really hurt the value proposition. So I expect to see it a few years from now when MS output is consistent and good in lieu of a price increase.
Hmmm, I see. So when it comes to game streaming MS isn’t yet delivering the best of the best. I don’t mind it that much. I mean this streaming stuff is fascinating for sure, but it’s all about having that real console sitting next to the TV and just playing that way. And especially gaming on a huge screen. I wonder how Luna copes with that in terms of artifacts and stuff that is much more easy to notice the bigger the screen.
Because we are still in the beginning, local gaming will be relevant for years and years to come no question. But it’s about the growing casual market. the fact that twitch is such a big deal, who would have think that in the beginning?
gaming keeps growing and the expansion works best with easy to use solution, it’s currently not targeting the gamer with a 2k pc or hundred’s of game collection on a shelf people. But the people that just play some candy crush here and there or are not gaming at all currently. But looking further ahead, i see social gaming a big part, amazon customers get access to cloud only demos/early access/beta’s of games, vr expieriences that get streamed. intresting to see the next 5 years.
We will see sooner or later. But no matter what all of them will need content going forward. So the bids for multiplats will increase to have something to put yourself above the other services. But as i said, i’am intrested to see what features they will deliver going forward and evolve new social focused genres or features. it was a shame for me that i had to buy battletoads on steam because that let me play local coop with a friend over remote play.
xcloud is only even barely able to compete because of their business model, where you don’t need to buy individual games like on Stadia. On stadia, if you paid 60 for AC:Odyssey, you can only play that on Stadia, which is a massive waste. On Xcloud, you can play that on cloud and if it’s not working for you, you can literally just go back to PC or Console to play it without needing to pay anything more. Stadia performs better for a lot of people apparently, but their business model is god awful and needs to change and Amazon is bringing competition basically at 6 dollars a month with the game pass model, where you don’t pay for the games themselves, but also on every platform (even iOS through a web browser). Xcloud needs to adapt fast, and I suspect that’s exactly what MS was ready for.
So do we see the showcase for the remaining studios from xbox before launch or after?
lmao it’s crazy how soon everyone forgot of those studios’ existence even. Kinda feels sad tbh, no longer being the underdog and waiting for so long to see what each of them are doing. Used to speculate for days to months on end about what project they might be working, we got some right like Fable, and some are yet to be confirmed or denied like Perfect Dark, it felt like a small community hanging together. Now, the first party exploded and there’s suddenly 2,300 people more working as first party devs lol, it’s surreal
To answer your question, I hope we do see what The Initiative is working on, more updates on Hellblade 2, maybe gameplay.
I actually don’t hate Amazon in terms of their strides in convenience, tech and offerings. Prime Video is great. I just wish they weren’t such shitbags to many of their employees. Bezos can part with a few billion.
I think these will be hold back for tga, but i still would like to hear the states of them. compulsion, the coalition, worlds edge are not less exciting to me looking forward.
Grounded’s goap model for the insects, i wonder if this is a testground for obsidian’s ai moving forward like avowed AI. Love the small teams projects of xbox game studios.
They will transition next year. Don’t worry now it will still take some time until cloud gaming takes of.
So if anyone wants to get a good laugh
Read the comments in Fat_Gamers video about Sony buying Bethesda 8 months ago, the comments had me dying
Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.
If MS did buy Capcom i would say keep some games like Resident evil Monster hunter and Devil May Cry but have Capcom bring back old IPs just as Dino Crisis Lost Planet Onimusha and others ones as exclusives
I dont know if anyone remembers. Sega and Capcom staff were invited to Microsoft Japan HQ in early 2018.
