I think Phil’s made it clear he wants to move past Scalebound, and I honestly don’t blame him. It feels like a different era of xbox. I think if they were to try and bring back Scalebound it would have to blow people away or it would get meme’d to heck and back.
It came from the Rand/Jez podcast and the RDX podcast. Story goes, Platinum used funds for other projects which is why the game looked bad and ran bad. Somehow Spencer found out about it (supposedly by a Platinum employee) and that’s when the decision was made to cancel the game.
I don’t know how true this story is but I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if it was true because Platinum is known to be all in on certain projects while not giving a shit about others.
You know they were just rumors we don’t know exactly what truly happened behind the scenes except the people involved.
They may share their mistakes but as far as I am concerned I would rather go on a positive view. I can see them make peace and go together realize their vision they had at the begining.
Also all that is related to framerate, res etc can be improved due to next gen and even the character designs etc it is not set in stone…
Could be. True or not, I simply think that Microsoft and Spencer need to move on and just let Scalebound die. Time to move on. Far better games are coming.
I dont even think platinum would be able to make this any time soon, even if phil agreed to it. Theyre working on Project G.G., Babylons Fall, and Bayonetta 3 at the moment. Probably another game too
Perhaps but I have followed and listened to these guys for 15 months and they haven’t been wrong yet. Specs for Series X, Horizon going to PC, etc. Whatever it’s been, they’ve been right so until they start getting things wrong, im not going to doubt them.
Do you have an official quote where Phil said he wanted to move past Scalebound please?
Would gladly appreciate. Thanks. And yes of course to bring it back maybe they can change the setting, some ideas, details etc they still own the ip so I guess they could make a use of that.
It has to be impressive and well worth the revival, I agree or it would be mocked forever.
