LOL, thanks for making my point? 2021 what are the games XBX is hinging their Q4 on? Halo\Forza… kind of fits right into the Sony fanboy narrative don’t you think?
Uh Kena is exclusive for 1yr I think, same as Deathloop, it absolutely fits into my point, in a year where a lot of games have been delayed Sony is turning out games, good games, at a rate superior to MS and generating a lot of positive buzz for their console. MS barren offering in comparison and likely thru most of 22’ is likely sapping their GP subscriptions and fueling the anti-XBX narrative.
Is Halo SP and Forza going to reverse this trend or change the narrative (who has the games gamers want to play) all by themselves?
I don’t think so, no doubt both are big games, I never said they weren’t, but they are also well-known entities by now and I do question whether they will drive significant growth of GP subs. I think until Starfiled & Redfall are released (Q3/Q4?) MS will continue to fight the 'where are the games" narrative, and it is justified
We are talking about drawing new gamers\subs and the narrative of who has the games this generation so far. Halo MP will likely be huge, but do you need a GP membership to play MP? Not moving goalposts, it is a legitimate point, and look I am a longtime xbox gamer, and I like GP, but it can’t just rely on back catalogs and 3rd party AA games. If MS wants to change the narrative about Xbox and really challenge Sony then they need more tentpole games and not just the same ones they have relied on year after year after year, yes those are good games, but they are not going to draw the non XBX gamers to GP.
Yes, we all know they are coming, but what are they doing in the interim?
LOL, that was a little tongue & cheek. I can’t remember I have a sub for however many months still, but for the first time, I am questioning the need to pay for GP when it is up. I have enough of a backlog of games I already own + PS5 games to play thru the next several months to make me question whether GP is worth it.
There has been major releases on Game Pass since August and going through December. This post is weird.

Why are you regurgitating the sort of drivel we can all read from rabid fanboys on social media but adults usually choose not to? As soon as someone starts the yeah game x,y and a don’t count for reasons thing you know their argument is utter nonsense. And as ever this proves the point.
Xbox this quarter has two of the biggest games in gaming. Franchises that attracts the highest numbers for their genres. Vs what from Sony this quarter? It’s an absolute non starter argument. The people who say these things will never subscribe to gamepass so it’s absolutely pointless even thinking about it.
The barrier is hardware. Any they sell hardware as fast as they can make it. So system selling games is absolute rot, they could have a million games that you arbitrarily assign as system sellers and it wouldn’t change a thing. I come here to avoid having to wade through this sort of nonsense.

Yeah I had to laugh at the goy contenders bit. Microsoft is the highest rated publisher for 2021. Even before forza.
I’m looking forward to Halo and Forza releasing to higher numbers than any PlayStation exclusive and then listening to whines about they only launched that high because they are on game pass/F2P

Flight Simulator reached more players than Returnal and Ratchet’s sales combined pre-Xbox release. MLB 21 launched into Game Pass. That’s been PlayStation’s entire first-party output this year which you’re waxing lyrical about. The mods are way too lenient with clownish behavior.

We have the self-moderation system for a reason, people have reported and it has been handled. If you’re having issues with someone use the flag system, it is far more effective than a passive aggressive note at the end of a post. I
The flag system gives us an alert to check on something, we simply do not have a big enough moderation team to constantly read through every thread 7 days a week 24 hours a day.

Yep, which is why you should feel free to flag them. Flagging is just a “hey mods, you should check this out” system and our best tool for keeping things civil here.

While there was a few points that could warrant actual discussion (how much will the Halo campaign actually contribute to GP growth, short- and longterm?, how will the dry season look next year? etc.) the post could have been worded a bit better. Not that that would have made a difference to the phenomenon you talk about sadly.
I stopped reading after seeing the first line was an obvious falsehood. That’s not how you start off a good faith discussion.
Mort, you always push this narrative that people immediately attack anyone who “isn’t positive” which I find to not match reality. We have lost a lot of good posters to this place being seen as “overly negative” the majority of the time. People can positive about anything or negative about anything, but the moment someone disagrees there are those that immediately go with "you’re just simply not allowed to be “insert side here” and start playing a victim. I’m not going to allow long threads of posts about people complaining that their side of an argument “isn’t allowed” all the time.
Use the flag system if you think people are being legitimately rude or attacking others for simply having a differing opinion. I didn’t accept the first few flags in this thread as a differing opinion is fine, but when arguments are pulled from the console warring list areas of twitter it’s not in good faith.

Anyways, they are releasing two bangers Forza and Halo, but it seens you are one of those guys that nothing that xbox put out is good enough and yet here you are putting two xbox bangers in the same bag of returnal and keena and completely ignoring all the games xbox put out this year so far on gamrpass. Please.
TBH honest some of his arguments are quite frankly delusional or hilarious. Sony “putting out more games” …uh…no? They stopped releasing games in June and their next one isn’t out until February (assuming no delay)…thats an 8 month game drought.
And we don’t need to sugarcoat it.
Returnal flopped. Ratchet flopped. Destruction All Stars flopped. MLB The Show …did ok…thanks to gamepass.

And the “we won’t see a marquee title until Starfield”…no no no, pure “concern” Halo and Forza are weeks away and honestly i don’t see any Playstation title, past present or future coming close commercially…not at $60, especially not at $70.
Can’t “outsell” gamepass. Can’t “outsell” free.

yes, you need to use them because I cannot read every post in every thread all day every day. This forum is built around the flag system, there is no negative to using them. If we disagree with a flag we choose disagree/ignore and that’s it.
