Thinking of that it would be nice if they could get the CrossGen franchise from Disney since no one is using it. Really enjoyed the comics.

Disney are not in a good place right now, the Disney+ shows are performing terribly with huge budgets, all their movies bar GotG3 seem to have been either bombs or not done well, the MCU in general has fallen off massively, Star Wars is in a horrid state and Captain Marvel looks to be one of the biggest failures of the year

They definitely need to rethink things or get new management

idk about a MS Disney partnership but Bob Iger’s adviser is really pushing for Iger to invest big into gaming. Wont be surprised if they end up buying EA.

I wonder how many studios Embracer will still own by this time next year

Hopefully not a lot and by that I mean I hope other publishers, especially Xbox, pick them up rather than being closed down

Embracer have no idea what they are doing

They would likely see the costs involved in managing game development and will back down, licencing is the smarter business for them.

We’ve all talked about Xbox picking up some studios from Embracer but this feels an interesting option I don’t know if anyone had considered before this. It’s a tricky one because as they are basically a new studio and with the last Timesplitters being a long while ago they really need to have something good to show behind closed doors for potential buyers.

If someone could pick up Free Radical and Dambusters (formed out of a lot of the former FR staff when it originally shut down) that could be kinda fun though, and the latter did do a great job with Dead Island 2.

Considering that they lost about $387 million Disney might actually agree to one.

I think if Microsoft were to go after them they would also want to get Eidos Montreal and Crystal Dynamics too. Otherwise they just might do the same thing as Deep Silver Volition and hire their former employees.

I agree, Milestone is a good studio. Xbox already owns Crash Team Racing (Beenox), but Milestone could indeed develop this type of game in the Xbox universe. If Microsoft buys SEGA, Milestone could even become the new developer of Team Sonic Racing. I’m also thinking of games like Blur or PGR which could come back. Milestone could also work with Playground and Turn 10 to improve their own games. Imagine a Horizon type game with motorcycles. It could be a very interesting acquisition.

They already have many partnerships. Honestly, with the current situation, I could see Microsoft acquiring Disney in the coming years.

Warner bros is worth 20 billion now. Yikes. And they have over 40 billion in debt too :rofl:. If Xbox was interested in WBD this would be the time.

I wish someone would save them, TimeSplitters would be perfect for a revival. I’m honestly surprised with all the remakes Embracer made that they never made a new one.

Theres not alot of gold in the Embracer group Personally, all I would care about is getting CD, Edios, 4A and maybe Gearbox.

Outside of that, theres not alot that excites me.

I do find it interesting that MS hasnt made any real moves to secure both CD and Edios at this point. They really cant risk losing them to another publisher, or even have them closed down.

CD->XGS

Eidos->Zenimax

Gearbox->Activision

There are ways around it. Xbox Game Studios could buy CD , Bethesda could buy Edios, and ABK could buy 4A, all as individual putchases.

I agree with Crystal, Eidos, 4A Games, Gunfire Games and Dambuster along with their respective IP’s. No interest in the rest and honestly, I don’t think those other studios are worth acquiring in my opinion. As for Gearbox, don’t see it happening nor should it. First, Microsoft doesn’t want Pitchford and second, they don’t own the IP of their most successful franchise - Borderlands. Wonderlands was good but I don’t see them as worth it.

With 4A games you also get their game engine, which is one of the best going around. I know that they already have a number of top engines, but adding their tech would still be good.

That’s true. Didn’t even think about that. And with Dambuster, they have that Flesh Engine or whatever it’s called that allows insane gore in Dead Island 2.

I’d be okay with turning Gearbox into another Call of Duty studio lol
