Xbox Acquisition |OT5| Talking Exclusively About Xbox Acquisitions

Yeah, we might lose a publisher or a couple of developers to Sony but it should allow MS to also acquire more :philwins:

I think publishers people are thinking about are out of Sony reach financially.

Aren’t they owned by a Korean publisher?

$6-8B range

They spent 3.6 on a single studio so… we don’t fully understand their economics although yeah absolutely on a much lower level than MS and big tech.

It should also be within their 18 billions investments across 3 years.

they got Acquired ? i don’t think so i think they still independent.

I can see Sony spending up to 20 billion on acquisitions for Playstation post Activision. Imo that puts them out of the Take 2, EA running.

probably closer to 10B (gaming budget of 18B) but who is going to be ? is it publisher or studios ? also not a lot big AAA studios left on the market.

i could see KojiPro, for publishers UBI or SE

It is not only for Playstation, but all entertainment divisions like anime, movies, and such, so even less.

EA could cost more than 50B, they need to pay premium for this

ah mb i thought they were independent, i was watching old games reveals and i remembered them haha

Yes, EA will be very expensive. I don’t honestly see anyone buying them. It may be tough for Microsoft to get that through regulators. Take 2 Xbox could maybe get by regulators.

I still think that’s unlikely unless it’s a defensive acquisitions. I think Microsofts plan will be Sega, CDPR, individual studios in the near term.

I think possible for Sony:

SE, SEGA, CAPCOM, FOCUS ENTERTAINMENT, DEVOLVER, ANNAPURNA.

Capcom and SEGA will probably have a lot of multiplatform demands though.

Ubisoft isn’t in Sony’s financial range tbh.

I don’t think many are. I can’t help but people give Sony a little too much credit. Like with Spartacus, people made it really guaranteed that they will do everything GP does day one.

I honestly don’t see Capcom selling to anyone, even for a premium.

Ubisoft is right around the same market cap as Capcom. They’ve fallen quite a bit. They are actually cheaper than Square Enix.

Just on a pure financial ability, one of those publishers is a realistic get for Sony, they could be around a $6B figure. Although not sure on strategic sense.

I think MS losing EA for Amazon or Meta is not of big deal, sport games will stay multiplatform. Codemasters racing and NFS games are not needed. they got WRPG covered so no need for Bioware, only lose here is Respawn.

T2 on other hand will hurt more.

I’m not just basing on market cap. Ubisoft is a globally present brand with very huge workforce and globally recognisable IP, have a platform and a subscription service too. They could be in the $20B range
