Xbox Acquisition |OT5| Talking Exclusively About Xbox Acquisitions

Which “smaller” studios would you have in mind for this in particular(Either acquired or a partnership)? Genuine curiosity.

I would assume it’s the studios currently working with Xbox Publishing e.g. IOI Interactive and Avalanche etc.

The question is, who that might be?

I think so too. Cloud is the key to Japan. Mobile gaming is unmatched in popularity and getting more titles on the service will be key in building on the momentum they currently have there.

They’ve been working as insiders the entire time…

I think it’s time for the Guillemot family to realise that they are part of the problem. I don’t think there is going to be any kind of improvement with them in charge.

Well at least market cap jumped from 4.7b to 6b.

Here my my usual post and also a little chuckle at the amount of new posts

But my usual post

I think it will be both, if they go after Capcom then it’s almost a certainty they will go after Level-5 because of their working relationship. Same thing if they went after Sega, they would almost certainly go after Media Vision.

I know Xbox will someday deal with Xcloud only being Game Pass games and needing to take games off Xcloud, but I hope that day is sooner rather than later. Not too much stuff on Xcloud for a JP audience and with stuff like half the Yakuza games leaving for example that doesn’t help.

Will we be interesting to see PS+ tier lineup after the launch and the amount of japanese games there.

Ugh Jodie. She’s one of the weirdos all too common in the JRPG fandom that’s always cherrypicking random information to argue Japanese games shouldn’t release on Xbox.

There’s already vocal complaints and echos about GamePass not having AAA games and none of the Japanese Games are AAA …

I mean is AAA even really a thing with Japanese games? I think only Square Enix games (which is why Sony moneyhats them), From Software (well Elden Ring anyway), and Capcom games fit that. You get games like Yakuza or Tales of Arise that give the illusion of AAA but you can feel the lower budget in aspects (which imo is better because actual AAA costs have become too damn bloated)

Don’t do this please, the generalizing about an entire country/culture isn’t cool.

I’m just looking at the games Japanese publishers put out today and the games these same studios put out years ago.

They don’t fit with what MS are looking for.

I know I had a bad take on Microsoft dropping the ball with the recent embracer group aquistion, so my question is does this show that Microsoft is vulnerable to a defensive aquistion til the ABK deal closes?

I understand that and can appreciate what you’re saying but try rereading what you wrote.
