I wonder if gran tursimo 7 was one of them they did not say all 10 were unannounced if memory is correct
Yeah I don’t remember them saying anything about them either. They could be in development, they could be pre production, or they could already be out, who knows. But I highly doubt all those games will be AAA games from scratch, that’s why square fits too well.
After seeing Hogwarts Legacy today it’s clear why MS was in talks to acquire WB Games two years ago.
Watch the next publisher be Koei Tecmo. You’d get Team Ninja and Gust. So MS would have a JRPG developer, fighter developer and cinematic developer too.
Look… Amazon don’t sell consoles or there own gaming platform
They sell subscription service… So even if Ubi is bought by Amazon… Ubi+ will still come to Xbox… Maybe prime also get included in that
They might even being Luna subscription service to Xbox or any other console
You absolutely are correct and after watching the video too. If Discovery Warner is still selling all of their game studios for four billion dollars, it might be worth it after all and bring them onboard.
Even if you don’t get the DC and Wizarding World license, I think these studios could do something great.
I’m not sure about you, but I got some Fable vibes from Hogwarts Legacy and that is a good thing.
WB is a great potential buyout for Sony
Sony must have known how good Hogwarts could be and I wonder why they didn’t persue them but went after Bungie instead
They could have tied up deal with movies as well… But then, they knows the best
Who knows honestly
They do have a team that is “different” from other companies as well. Now I’ve never played their games, probably because they don’t release them here in the states. But, they have a developer called Ruby I think, that makes dating simulators catered to female players. Idk if that equals value, but it does separate them from the competition
Well the amount they are paying Disney for Spider man and Wolverine, and a supposed marvel MMO that is in the works is already expensive enough. Adding, Harry Potter, Batman, Wonder Women, the Lego games. The license just to make the games is probably well over a couple hundred million, then you factor whatever royalties they would have to pay on top of that. Just thinking about it makes my head hurt
I am torn on what publisher Microsoft will acquire next my heart says WB and SEGA, but logically Ubisoft fills a lot of needs and can produce so much content to feed the gamepass beast, both in legacy titles and new releases they pump out 2 to 4 games a year and have so much support staff. at around 11 billion it would look like a steal compared to ABK. Lastly it keeps a massive publisher away from Amazon who I think Microsoft sees as it’s biggest competitor moving forward.
WB Games isn’t for sale anymore it’s why MS moved on. They wouldn’t sell to Sony.
Never say never. I think it’s still a viable option. The right price always fixes everything
Only two publishers Microsoft would acquire WB and SEGA. Probably not the last publishers but WB and SEGA are very important for Microsoft. Oh yeah and SE West Division as well.
They were worth around 4 billion before the acquisition craze and inflation now they are probably at $10 billion. After how well Hogwarts will sell I bet they’ll be protected by WB.
Not now anymore… I meant when they were actually
Clearly, Sony can do 3-4 billion dollar deals as evedient from Bungie deal
The acquisition is unpredicted. Something you didn’t expect when big companies acquire random or other studios.
Sega, Is very likely to be acquired by Microsoft. But the question is when? Next year or so?
I personally can’t see it.
WB Games isn’t for sale anymore, if it was one of tech giants would outbid them. Even then if WB games was on the table the issue would be the licensing.
The only way to get the WB properties would be to buyout WB as a whole which isn’t happening, especially Sony who regularly have had issues with their film division.
You know i remember seeing comments like this right before abk or Bethesda was announced. Logically what you are saying makes sense, and i actually agree with you, but it really just depends on who is buying them.
WB and Sega
