I can give you the educated guess that xbox strategy is for smaller studios and partners And that doesnt make me one.

He is. Klob hinted at all the 2018 studios 6 months before they were bought.
I only remember Playground.
He did a game of 2 lies and a truth, and nobody believed the LOI one.

Well, since I provided something I thought out a bit, put a lot of typing into, and felt expressed a lot of our opinions… time to release some trash.

I’m not sure about Remedy. They’ve already signed deals to make two multi platform games with Epic Games and a Control multiplayer spin off with 505 games. So it’s extremely unlikely they’d be aquired to make exclusive games for Xbox since xbox would have to wait a couple of years until they publish these multi platform games to even start developing xbox exclusive games. After these multi platform games release, they’d then have to wait another few years until those games are finished.

CDPR is not worthless. Their only problem is their corporate structure pressured the development side to release a game before it was polished, and on platforms that couldn’t handle it.
Those are business decisions, they wouldn’t come with the developer as it would be Xbox making the call. The game underneath it all, IMO anyway, was actually excellent and I am definitely playing again when the next gen patch comes.
Memory holing a history of excellent Witcher games, and I personally found CP2077 excellent despite a few bugs on Series X, just because their management made a stupid call is pretty unfair.
FWIW, though, I don’t think studios that make one big game at a time with ultra-long development cycles (and I include Rockstar with CDPR in that category) are what Xbox needs.
They need imaginative, creative small and mid sized teams either able to put out games with a frequent cadence or ready to step up to AAA with the right investment, or reliable AAA studios with a proven record of putting out at least two polished games a generation.
These massive project games, the CDPR and Rockstar kind, arguably don’t even make business sense in game pass until it has at least double the subscriber base it has now, probably more. They cost so much to make and take so long to deliver that they need massive sales across all platforms to justify themselves. I don’t believe that they would drive enough subs to break even.

I do want xbox to have 1 ultra- long development studio with tons of devs working on a single game like Naughty Dog , CDPR and Rockstar . And no , 343 isn’t that .

They are worthless because they as expensive as Capcom yet have zero IPs and their production speed is slow (compare Capcom’s and CDPR pipelines). Rockstar is slow but they have GTA Online and they made RDR and they have legendary IP which is GTA. Even if expensive they can be kinda worth.

I think Bethesda fits this pretty well. Also I’d love to hear the case by case basis used for there next publisher purchase which slowly changes to “some exclusives” and finally changing to exclusive to gamepass platforms. That was such a fun ride to see all the way through that I’m kind of missing the silly arguments from Xbox haters.
