Xbox Acquisition |OT3| 100% Organic Growth

Darn, I hope xbox games don’t have a global launch like this going forward.

Another stupid thing made by Microsoft was releasing Ori and the Will of the Wisps on Nintendo Switch.

That was a first original game with 90/100 which wasn’t a Halo/Forza/Gears trio since many years and they just made it not console exclusive in half year after release. If not some little technical issues on day one and with review copies I guess it could have easily 91-92/100.

Asobo Studio just needs to be part of Xbox Game Studios family.

They’re perfect for story-telling games (so shame that A Plague Tale franchise is not from XGS from the beginning as well) and they have so much technology capabilities that could be around Microsoft Game Stack for other first-party studios and games as well.

Asobo just feels like an ‘eventually’, but I have patience issues when I feel something is inevitable.

Even though it’s like trying to stop a tsunami with a beach towel, I’m here for all of Prog’s salvos in this thread.

I do what I can to keep some of you grounded in reality.

I get called a troll when I do that.

It’s all about the presentation.

You gotta have a little pizzazz and flair.

Try doing jazz hands and a meme gif next time.

Lol imagining. How mzny of us will hang in here till neXt acquisition which is probably months away? Ok i said it, you can send me to the firing squad now lol. But seiously, yes Asobo needs to be acquired asap, with embracer group lurkkng in the shadows.

Many of us will still hang around here even after the next acquisition, hoping for another one lol. It’s a never ending cycle.

Yeah, but it’s ok, gaming industry is 90% speculation given its secretive nature. What it’s not healty imo was the pre E3 whispering by reputable insiders about acquisition (which gave weight to rumours, there weren’t Foxy or Resetera delusions), which went completely out of control and over excited fanbase.

Had people here pretending to be insiders too lmao.

MS had a great E3. People were dissapointed with Sony’s state of play. Deaths’s door, Flight Sim are getting rave reviews. The Ascent is coming. Psychonauts 2 is a next gen exclusive. August is a pretty slow month in terms of social media usage compared to the fall months. Let the games get the attention they deserve right now and then unload the acquisition news in September. release the kraken! Lol

ALSO BUY ASOBO!

I agree with you, I think MS will choose the timing very strategically like they have always did, expecially for Zenimax (the day before Xbox preorders was not a coincidence).

And rightly so, if you don’t stop the shit you risk the resetera effect.

Xbox marketing team should take a look at this…

They already knew, the east/asia and mobile cut of the industry are the areas where MS is weak, after the failed mobile endavour and japanese weak Xbox strategy over 20 years.

I meant more where they are focusing their marketing… Still a ghost town in Europe for example.

That’s right. I log in every day to see Asobo coming to live with Xbox. So far, I am left wondering WTF. I am in agreement with you on its importance. Maybe tomorrow……

Oops I replied to the incorrect message, but I agree with both. They need Asobo any way they can. :+1:

We really don’t have a “set” window on when Xbox does acquisitions.

2018 were tied to events:

  • E3 2018 and XO 2018,

2019 was tied to a single event:

  • E3 2019.

2020 was only tied to a Monday because the next day was Xbox Series preorders.

So theoretically, we don’t have a set day and time from acquisitions. The only outline we have is a random Monday morning for Bethesda before next-gen preorders and Sunday afternoon/Saturday evenings with E3 and XO events.

So there’s nothing stopping Xbox from announcing an acquisition on a Tuesday, Wednesday or even a Thursday evening. So it’s really up to them.

So THEORETICALLY because there’s nothing on a Monday doesn’t mean there still couldn’t be one on a random weekday right?
