Xbox Acquisition |OT3| 100% Organic Growth

Ill never understand how 1 good game made cd projekt red the ipso facto best studio in the world to people and have catapulted it to this pedestal it never deserved. Then somethings like cyberpunk happen and woosh.

I greatly enjoyed Cyberpunk 2077, but they’ve got a bevy of issues to figure out before they’re worth looking at from an acquisition POV.

hmm idk

outside of tekken and gundam there is nothing much left.

Naruto past it prime and it games have been in downhill after storm 4.

Pac man is not it used to be outside of japan

gundam in current state is not popular as a video game made for pc and console but it’s very popular in other areas(probably the money maker here)

other IPs are mostly popular in japan.

let’s not forget other business Bandai own or invest in them.

Quick totally unrealted question, who made Sable, how many peopel are they, and are they already owned?

Shedworks. 2 people. Independent last I checked.

Just started seeing the reviews for Sable.

Seemed to be mixed to high. I think Microsoft is getting better at selecting prominent indies on the platform (or at least picking a wider breadth of good ones to bring).

Might be too soon for Shed-Works, but someone to look at.

Really hope Microsoft somehow manages to grab Studio MDHR. I think between the Netflix show and Delicious Last Course they could use the extra help.

Tell us wise one, how does business works?

And Raw Fury(partially owned by Nordisk) is publishing it. It’s crazy that almost every Nordisk game is releasing on Game Pass day one. Sable, Second Extinction, Call of the Sea and Contraband. Nordisk games would be a good acquisition.

Maybe their gaming sector. I don’t think Microsoft is too keen on diving into movies/TV again. Lol

Yeah, I mean Nordisk games lol.

Excuse me. I specially said Shadow.

It’s 100% expected to be edgy.:joy:

100% worth acquiring SEGA for.

Well, for one, I think that Square Enix over publishers like WB, Sega or Capcom makes little sense. There are some that think it would be great…but not in the near term, and maybe not in the medium term.

But that is just me.

Square Enix western division is a complete and utter mess and has been mediocre to bad for a decade and on their japanese side have a bunch of their biggest games locked down to Sony for an unspecified amount of time

Not to mention what they have doesnt fill much of what MS is missing outside of JRPGs, WB and Sega are both better in that regard

Square is not a good purchase at all right now

SE Europe is the publisher behind Just Cause (open world action adventure), Outriders (third person looter shooter), Life is Strange: True Colours (adventure), Avengers (multiplayer looter / action) and Guardians of the Galaxy (third person squad RPG). They’ll probably move on to Tomb Raider again post Avengers at Crystal Dynamics, a 3rd person cinematic action adventure title.

I think that’s quite a diverse range of offerings, and none of this stuff is like “oh no, we’ve got too much of that!”. None of it is just a first person shooter or something.

SE Japan has a variety of JRPGs bost small and large scale, and turn based + real time. People do talk about wanting Japanese games.

Just trying to give the full picture here, not saying this is definitely the greatest idea ever or something.

I see some people want Microsoft to acquires studios or publishers based on the emotional side rather than the business side. And I understand that, after all, we are human beings whose emotions dominate our minds

But everyone should know that when Microsoft chooses a studio to negotiate with them, whether it is a cooperation or an acquisition, Microsoft puts it in the priority list. How will this cooperation or acquisition will benefit ( Game pass ) . And the desire to make this service succeed and become like Netflix in the long run has given Microsoft the impetus to invest in the gaming division more than ever before.

In order for the service to be successful in the long term, (a monthly content of good games) must be provided to get customers to subscribe , And in order to provide content on a monthly basis for the service, you must search for effective and talented studios that can ( develop 2-3 good games ) during the generation

How do people think spending ( +7 billion ) for cd project red is a great move ? Ok you spend billions and the studio developed a great game and everyone subscribed to the game pass for a month,

After that what’s next ? You’ll be waiting a whole generation to get another game ? , How can it be a great business move to spend billions for a studio that will release one game during the entire generation will help game pass ?

The funny thing is that some people make fun of ( WB Games ) And that their games are not popular

Buy a company like WB Games With licensed titles better than cd project red 100X Times

With sufficient funding, increasing the number of developers and bringing in talent

  • Rocksteady Studios can produce 2 - 3 Games During the generation
  • NetherRealm Studios can produce 3 - 4 Games During the generation
  • Monolith Productions can produce 2 - 3 Games During the generation
  • WB Games Montréal can produce 2 - 3 Games During the generation
  • Traveler’s Tales can produce 3 - 4 Games During the generation

Please tell me how studios can make 10+ Games are a bad move ???

Microsoft paid $7.5 billion for Bethesda , And they know that every studio is under ZeniMax Media can produce 2- 3 Games through the generation , And this will help game pass due to the large number of content that will be available in the coming years

People, please use your mind before your emotions and you will know how Microsoft thinks

Dont get me wrong, im not saying MS would be against having them or they wouldnt benefit game pass
