hmm yeah it’s these three. and two (WB/UBI) of them are not that far-fetched due their current situation
WB Games and Square Enix. Ubisoft is great but they have too many employees (over 18,000).

Why do you want ubisoft under xbox ? IMO their games are bland , every game feels the same and are repetitive after 20 hours in . Last ubisoft game I loved is AC unity ( origins to a certain degree ) .

I love Ubisoft games, and I think they would make a great Banjo-Kazooie, since most of their games are about exploring and collecting stuff. Feels so good to mark something on the map and go after it on your horse! Dunno if I’m getting FC6 day one though, since I already beat FC4 this year and Ubisoft fatigue is a real thing. lol

If I was xbox I would take all the teams that make assasins creed and have them all make something new. I would have one team reboot the whole franchise and take thier time. This would ensure a lot of diffrent teams makeing different games

Not commenting on the rest, aside from reminding people that even those who are aware of what’s happening couldn’t pinpoint timing as I always remind people, however I wanted to correct something here. Microsoft no longer “assimilates” staff of acquisitions; they practice ‘limited-integration’ with their new studios. Yes, there are the corporate benefits and the pathways of mobility between other Microsoft studios/departments, but the rest that would occur during acquisitions (title adjustments, staff quotas, etc.) no longer occur at Microsoft. MS found, with the purchase and relationship with Mojang, that limiting interference with company culture, practices, directives, etc. resulted in a healthier position for both parties.

I’m not sure where ubisoft came into the conversation(unless it’s pure speculation) but I can’t see Microsoft wanting to step into that quagmire. Way too much going on across multiple studios

I agree with this completely . My only reasoning behind " Acquisition would be announced in 2022 " is that I think MS is buying someone huge cough Take two cough and that thing is going to take time .

I think Microsoft should look at locking up the support studios they’ve been using or at least working towards rights of first refusal. Those are on the smaller side of things. While unglamorous they are critical.
