To tack onto my good man’s post; these things take time, and just because they haven’t been announced yet doesn’t mean Microsoft is sitting on their laurels, nor are they waiting to react to something. As I’ve have said repeatedly, if the willingness to spend money on non-core businesses last year didn’t convince you, perhaps the myriad of statements made by Satya Nadella, Phil Spencer, Matt Booty, and even Aaron Greenberg will serve as a reminder that more studios are coming to the Xbox first-party organization. They filed a filing with the SEC for a specific reason…

Since this is the Acquisition thread I had a realisation over the weekend that the only acquistion that really makes sense for MS in the gaming space is…Nintendo.
Think about it, Nintendo can be their mobile platform they can adopt xcloud and gamepass - build native Xbox versions of nintendo software. They would bring in the wider gaming market that MS craves and have a huge route into mobile gaming they currently lack. Also ideal for the same vertical integration model plus of course they’d have a captive Japanese and Asian market.
The games would compliment the brand and gamepass plus they’d have ready made hardware that will sell and reach the hundreds of millions they’ve always wanted to. Along with mobile…it makes absolute sense. In fact when you consider it - its the only one that really does make that much sense.
