If MS purchased WB Games, do you think they would give them creative freedom (like every other studio) or would they be forced to work on DC licenses.

Would be low key hilarious if they bought them and they chose not to no longer work on superhero games.

TT and NR would be locked on LEGO and MK anyway, maybe then not all their studios will do DC properties only.

Those are collaborations and not the licensed IPs in a sense where studio dedicate years of development to make the game the rights to which they don’t even own.

If it’s WB and they don’t acquire the licenses, would that mean that after Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad WB will have to look for other developers to make Batman games or any other superhero? Unless Xbox makes a deal with them.

I agree with Javy here, WB hopefully means the licenses too or some kind of deal with the owners that they can let these studios keep making what they do best.

On the other hand I can see Rocksteady absolutely wanting to try their hand at something totally different after so many years of Batman and just superhero stuff in general. Definitely curious how this will all unfold, If it’s true about WB, that is.

Maybe Rocksteady or WB Montreal comes up with a IP of their own for Xbox and it becomes huge, wtf knows.

It depends on if you get licenses. I wouldn’t bother with WB without licenses but thats just me.

They should be given creative freedom. It would also be cool to see other Xbox studios using Warner licenses. An Arkane Blade Runner would be amazing.

And if none of the WB studios wants to make hero stuff for a while, what’s stopping Global Publishing finding a studio outside of XGS to make a Batman or even Superman, or any of the others?
