People say Bethesda was industry changing, this would be on another level and set Xbox up for pretty much life, they could just sit back and not have to worry about any other studios/publishers to buy.

Did the 5-7 studios stuff backfire? If someone is upset that nothing was acquired it’s really their own fault for taking rumours as fact.
Yep, it did, but for that time I blame mostly insiders who went on a wild rumour escalation before E3, it was obvious people would have been disappointed if you forecast so much acquisitions and then nothing happens.

Personally, a taketwo acquisition doesn’t make me excited ( don’t think it would happen). Many of their titles would most likely remain multiplatform like their sports games or gta getting the minecraft treatment. Their games already have the largest budgets + time like with red dead redemption 2.
The big get with T2 would be Firaxis tbh
