Xbox Acquisition |OT3| 100% Organic Growth

If they some how make GTA 6 a Xbox console exclusive than i can see 50 million More Gamepass subs alone i mean GTA 6 is a guarantee 100 million plus seller it the biggest gaming franchise of all time.

I mean they have given cool stuff out with GPU for Sea of Thieves and Gears 5. I do find it odd that they haven’t done something for Halo MCC. You’d think they’d provide an exclusive nameplate or something. But the perks they’ve provided for PSO2, Splitgate, and Apex are pretty cool though. Not to mention the free Spotify, Discord Nitro, Disney+ trials they’ve given.

Yeah  would be funny for them to announce something on that day, could see the articles now

  • Just 12 months on from Bethesda, Microsoft now has purchased Take Two.

50 million subs would be $6 billion per year, so the acquisition would pay for itself in only 5 years (assuming everyone stayed subscribed) if MS purchased Take 2 for $30 billion.

and that’s not even including MTX sales which is the main income from the game, those damn shark cards.

Yes it would and it would be amazing and not only are you getting GTA franchise but also the Red Dead Franchise which itself has sell over 50 million & Bioshock which has also sell over 30 million along with NBA 2k which has sell over 100 million. Take Two really has some major mega seller franchise.

Yeah I mean I actually think 50m subscribers is conservative.

I know it’s easy to think this and want DLC and everything included. When you look at the value that we’re already getting, we (i do the same) come off as a little entitled demanding more lol.

Oh I dont expect dlc’s but some skins here and there dont hurt lol.

Well, my ass wants everything first party for free lol

GTA is one of those mega franchises where there’s “casual” gamers for lack of a better word that literally play that one game only and nothing else, there are about 5 of those franchises that

  • GTA

  • CoD

  • Fortnite

  • Minecraft

  • Fifa

Obviously there are other games/series but those would be the ones that pop up the most if you asked people

GTA5 8 years later is still one of the most played games and still seems to sell at least 10 million copies every year and im pretty sure I read that the last car update brought in its most players ever or something ridiculous

Having a series like that on gamepass exclusively and permanently, saying it would provide constant subscribers and growth for gamepass is an understatement

Series S + GTA + Gamepass, not a combo to be underestimated when little timmy needs a console come christmas or quite frankly anytime of the year and that’s literally just GTA, nevermind everything else you’d get from a T2 buy

It crazy that this is even a possibility Before MS bought Bethesda no one expected they would buy anyone of Bethesda caliber but now all bets are off and we actually talking about Take Two which is like the number 1 get if MS manage to get them it like twice as big a get than even Bethesda it actually crazy if it happen.

says a lot about the investment last few years i still cannot believe that bethseda is exclusive

Take two would be an excellent get especially with 2k getting into more sports licenses. More sports licenses means more annual releases day one into game pass.

Also you do get one of the biggest Entertainment IP in the world in GTA which is a guaranteed money maker.

Here’s your weekly acquisition Ted Talk.

To appease my friend @Mort, I shall intend to win over seven studios to join the Xbox family. I won’t include Asobo or Moon Studios for the sake of repeating what everyone else has said in this thread 5 bajillion times. I’m also leaving out rumored partnerships (Avalanche, IO Interactive, etc.), gigantic targets (publishers, but large developers are on the list), and problematic studios (we know who I’m talking about).

  1. Supergiant Games - Bastion was one of the most beloved Xbox 360 arcade titles and paved the way for this legendary developer. Over the years they’ve also released Transistor, Pyre, and the legendary Hades. This studio is known to have a wonderful work culture and for having an extremely solid retention rate, meaning their talent is known to stay. With a portfolio like that, they’re a no brainer. Not to mention Transistor and Pyre would be easy wins for Game Pass as day one titles for the platform.

  2. Behaviour Interactive - Best known for their asymmetric horror multiplayer game Dead By Daylight (and lets not forget Naughty Bear), one of the most popular games on Game Pass. Not only does this game keep constantly adding new characters, content, and seasonal rewards, but it continues to have a highly active community that doesn’t seem to be letting up. This studio sort of has a similar history to Asobo where they were working as a support studio for multiple titles, but have now made a far. Heck, DBD has done so well they’ve made their own mobile version of the game too, expanding upon the value the studio could bring to XGS.

  3. Harmonix Music Systems - You know what’s a genre that could do really well through Game Pass and could continue to grow endlessly with ease? Music games. You know who’s an independent developer that is continuing to do this? That’s right, Harmonix is a solid option for the team. Harmonix and Microsoft have a long history with Microsoft through Dance Central, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they’ve been approached before. They seem to still consistently release high quality games (Fuser review pretty well, I didn’t expect that tbh) and I’d love to see them expand on their previous work.

  4. Bokeh Game Studio - Made up of ex-Sony Japan employees including Keiichiro Toyama (creator of Silent Hill and Gravity Rush) and are currently working on a horror titles that’s giving off Silent Hill vibes. If development is going well, Xbox would be smart to grab them sooner rather than later if at all possible. Not only would it be another Japanese studio or another studio, but you’d also have some of the most respected developers in the industry in house alongside the likes of Schafer, Fargo, Mikami-san, Howard, etc.

  5. Supermassive Games - Please note, Nordisk has invested money into this studio, but if the rumors around Avalanche are true, who’s to say Supermassive can’t happen too? Best known for both Until Dawn and the Dark Pictures Anthology, these guys are simply a more technically impressive Telltale team imo. They’ve been on a mission to release a DPA title once a year under Bandai Namco, which shows that they plan to be on a consistent schedule. This could be a huge boon for Game Pass with having an annual franchise. Heck, if they get Behaviour and Supermassive they could tie in a new killer/survivor every year!

  6. CyberConnect2 - A Japanese studio with a long history that I would argue most aren’t willing to even give a fair shake. They’re best known for working on the Naruto Ultimate Ninja and .hack// series. They’ve also previously worked on DBZ: Kakarot and the incredibly underrated Asura’s Wrath. This studio has been around since 1996 and is finally getting their chance to self-publish titles (their first was critical hit Fuga: Melodies of Steel and they’ve got two games coming) and are also working on a Demon Slayer game with SEGA. This is a team I’d love to see let loose to do whatever they want.

  7. The Behemoth - Just like Supergiant, these guys made it big through the Xbox 360 arcade with Castle Crashers (Alien Hominid HD and Battleblock Theatre helped too). Pit People was even a timed exclusive for the Xbox One generation, showing that there has been recent value in this relationship. I would be very surprised if this team does not get acquired at some point in the next few years.

By the way… now I’ve snuck in an 8th studio…

  1. TRIPWIRE IS BACK ON THE MENU FOLKS! (their problematic president/co-founder/co-owner has stepped down) - I don’t need to explain these guys. Killing Floor and Maneater speak for themselves imo. Just a really fun studio.

That concludes this week’s talk. Please see yourselves out the doors on the left and grab yourself a complimentary copy of NieR: Automata. Thanks!

I’m still hoping Supergiant is the star. lol

I wouldn’t say Tripwire is back on the menu.

Yeah that guy is stepping down, but I gotta feeling that kind of rot spreads from the top down.

Maybe time to place in a holding pattern until we get more info.

Maybe but I think this is something big.
