Oh, okay.

IOI just got divorced from Square Enix. As MS is content to give them money for an exclusive and they have a massive licensed game in development, I think they’ll probably ride the independent wave for a while unless someone drastically overpays.

Xbox should buy creā-ture studio :bosmanright:

I had completely forgotten about them.

Has there been any news on the full release of Session?

1.0 should be coming up soon I think. I’m not sure how covid impacted them.

Its amazing how all.the studios I used to tweet to Phil, saying how he should buy them and now it seems he is. They really listen to the fans

They are already an Indie according to Nintendo. They were in Nintendo Direct.

That is amazing for a storied company like Konami. :-/

Buy the IPs.

Konami by itself has very few teams working on games, it looks like. They were in Nintendo Direct - which means they might be below a certain threshold with Nintendo too revenue wise.

Just want to say thank you for the influence you have had on a VP of a $2 trillion company

Haha, nah, this current Xbox team really do listen to the fans especially on twitter. It’s a reason they are where they are. Compare it to Sony where the current management just seem to humour thier fanbase.

Please leave the pointed, individual hostility out of the forum.

Ten year lic is too less. Should be 15 or more. It would mean 3 dev cycles per studio, and you will have probably 12-15 games if 5 studios are working on it.

They will have to renegotiate licensing from everyone involved. Tolkien estate, Rowling estate etc. And not just have DC IPs there.

But I would love for this to happen.

The other thing is that they can’t be hands off with WB studios completely. Due to financial stress their pipeline and dev speed right now is not as good. Maybe have someone be co-head of the studios in addition to whoever is there.

If it does happen it won’t be just a studio acquisition. I think IPs matter for Xbox. :crossed_fingers:

the rumour, from multiple people has been that ms and IO genuinely wanted to have IO acquired in 2019, but that they couldnt negotiate a deal with Square Enix for the hitman ip. With IO branching out in a big way, maybe Square enix could be negotiated with, even if that meant hitman staying multiplatform and square enix publishing the hitman games on other platforms

:skull:

After being under a dumb company like SE, I think they don’t want to be under anyone and it seems they’re good, I mean, they are financially successfull and they even opened new studios. Obviously under MS they would have much more budget, we will see alongside the evolution of the dragon game what the future will be.

Why not just buy AT&T?

Seriously, Not much more valuable IP out there than WB\DC. Take the gaming studios, own the IP, get the Tv\movie production with WB\HBO, Divest directv, Why not? It’s not like they\AT&T aren’t already in a world of hurt anyway? Microsoft could do this and not even blink, why rent the IP when you could just own it instead and have a great vertical avenue for all of your gaming IP?

biggest waste of money literally ever. AT&t has a $225 Billion marketcap, with an additional $150 Billion in debt. If someone even suggested it theyd get laughed out of microsofts board meeting.

You say that as if they’re cheap. They’re not, even for Microsoft. And anyway, who’d want them when they’re way in debt?
