Supergiant?
clearly, this means they are acquiring embracer group and all 58 studios.
I’m pretty sure the name of that studio must be in this thread already.
Gamepass on Steam is coming (source Tyler McVicker), but I think they will upgrade the PC Gamepass app experience and architecture prior to that happening. Otherwise, you might see PC Gamepass going primarily through Steam

Microsoft will pay extra to keep Randy off their payroll. Lol
I suspect MS would have incited Embracer to take Geearbox off the market.
I hope Sega, to get them of this damn NFT thing they recently jumped on. Seriously for a company with Ecco the Dolphin and Sonic .
This is f-ing hilarious.
I have a sneaky suspicion that this scenario has a good chance of actually happening due to Biden’s proposed crackdown on cash sitting in tax havens.
MS reportedly has 25bn to spend from such places.
C’est drôle car Embracer Group conviendrait bien à Microsoft, ils ont beaucoup de contenu classés E, des studios pour les AA et des studios assez grands pour les AAA
Embracer would be a great purchase for someone who wants to get into the industry, but I do not think for Microsoft. They are a bit too big now and I think Microsoft would be a bit apprehensive to take on that many employees all at once for their Xbox division, plus I do not think Microsoft needs that many studios lol.
GP on Steam would also be a limited selection, like EA Play on there is the worst version among all, because Valve wants their royalties on third party games.
Embracer is too large. Even Ubisoft is quite large. Beaides quality will start mattering pretty soon, and Embracer does not move the needle much there.
Embracer is too big today, I don’t think they’re going to get bought out but it’s funny how they fill all the boxes Microsoft’s missing.
For future studios I would say: IO Interactive, Bluepoint Games (there was a rumor last year that Microsoft bought a studio close to Sony) & Playtonic.
And the one I would like the most is Square Enix Europe
Would SE even entertain the thought of selling off a division?
Not now they will not, but if they continue to not meet expectations then they may become more receptive to the idea.
Now, they might. Avengers was/is a cool 70M loss. Imagine that. Outriders was a success largely through Gamepass and they are only doing the publishing.
And rhey are scouting around lookimg for offers. Given that Xbox might be interested it would have already inflated the price.
The real question seems to be is if given a choice wouldn’t Xbox buy SE whole?
How do we know SE is looking for offers for their divisions? I know they was rumors for offers of the company but that’s all I’ve heard
True - We dont know any of that. Only the companies talking know that. We can just speculate. No idea what is on the table.
But someone leaking the fact that Square was looking for offers is a sign (like Discord) that they might be looking for a premium offer.
They would have to entertain as they are publicly traded. If someone rolls in and offers a substantial sum since they have public investors they would have to consider the offer as the investors would want to know why you gave up all that money if you decline.
As the investors only want a return on investment.
