Xbox Acquisition |OT2| Something, Something, Snowball Effect

Tencent prefers to buy some shares and stake in some profitable studios than buying them in 100%.

The best example is Epic Games. 40% for many years. Tencent earned easily some billions of dollars because of that stake.

Definitely noticed this page is getting eyes from ERA and GamingLeaks. The problem with both places is the only safe havens for Xbox fans in those forums were Xbox dedicated threads. Any rumors that shined Xbox in a positive light were dismissed or downplayed to the point that even though their were multiple KojimaXxbox rumors Abondoned was more believable to the populous there.

The Nemesis System is irrelevant and nobody has ever bothered to copy any similar mechanic in like a decade in any game. Dont think its any ground breaking tech lol.

WB has a patent on the nemesis system lol

Even without a patent or before it nobody ever bothered to copy anything similar to it. If it was truly groundbreaking or revolutionary it would had spawned a dozen generic copies lol.

More rumours. Best if you take everything with a pinch like

Frogwares is very promising studio but I think their location is a problem.

I have been thinking about Nixxes since the announcement.

I have said multiple times in the previous thread that part of the dream is the western studios of Square. It has never really been realistic despite some of the signs of square japan being less than pleased with them.

However with Nixxes in Sony land, I think it is becoming more plausible. Nixxes has basically exclusively worked on Crystal, Eidos and IO ports for the entirety of their 20 year history.

The question in my mind is if Microsoft would value those studios and the non japanese IP at 6 or 7 billion to line up with that other rumor. Microsoft claims to be chasing BIG IP. Have to wonder what they would value a worldwide mainstream IP such as Tomb Raider in the current inflated market.

I don’t think Microsoft would acquire the western branch for the same value of the full publisher.

If Microsoft was going for Square, I’d expect the whole thing. Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest by themselves are major carriers for Game Pass when it comes to Japanese content currently.

He has a point, $10b is cheap.

For MS

The full company would go for much more. Their board knows that it is a sellers market. No way they would sell for anything less than double current market cap. All of the Japanese Pubs are undervalued on the market compared to the western pubs.

I can kind of see them taking a big payday to wash their hands of it.

I wouldnt really be considering it if Microsoft wasnt very incentivized to spend a large chunk of their cash in the near future. Maybe as part of the negotiation, game pass for the japanese side would be involved a certain timeframe after release.

You take that back

Cons of no vetting = 6 months from now when we have our 1572nd insider claiming to have info, it will probably get tiring. Yes we can believe people by a track record, but how many records does a track record track before there is a record number of tracked track records?!?!

I’m tired goodnight

Yeah MS would want SE as a whole.

I agree.

BUT I find it extremely unlikely that they would want to sell.
