For TOW2, I decided to play in very hard and turned off aim assist, so it took me a bit before I got through the opening of the game. I have been running around doing side quest as I try to make my way to my destination in the first area.
Baldur’s Gate 3, I have had quite a few restarts as I get reused to Larians playstyle. I have used some mods to ease the game play for me, but I feel once I get back up to speed with the game play, I will do another restart without some of mods.
I was about 10 hours into Digimon Story Time Stranger on Series X, but I haven’t been able to play for a week. Look forward to getting home and playing it again tomorrow. So far I think it’s better than the last few Digimon games (Next Order, Cyber Sleuth, and Survive). I should take a look at the achievements list, because I would consider 100% completing it if it’s not too difficult. The visuals are very nice, I would recommend this game to anyone, as it’s a great jrpg/monster collection game. This is probably my game of the year so far, followed by Doom TDA (haven’t played Ninja Gaiden 4 yet though)
I revisited Eternal Strands to play to the free DLC. If you enjoyed the main game and haven’t gone back to play the new area/boss, then I recommend it. I fully upgraded all my weaver abilities, completed the codex, and found all the armor and weapon designs. It’s still one of my favorite games this year.
I started Keeper. Gorgeous game, but it starting as a walking simulator wasn’t what I had in mind. It’s adding more mechanics as I go, so I’m still interested in playing through it.
Just finished a 1000G playthrough of Keeper (I’m a sucker for achievements) and loved every minute of it. I think it might be Double Fine’s best game to date tbh. It does so much with so little narratively and gameplay wise. There’s no dialogue and the platforming is quite easy going, but it has an unmistakable visual style to it that is ethereal and beautiful. The puzzles are fun and easy enough to navigate, it requires you to think without wrecking your head and halting your progres for too long. Just a joy to play from start to finish, one of 2025’s best imo.
I’m in the endgame of Time Stranger and man, is this really a coincidence? I’ll have to scour the internet to see if there’s any intentional referencing at play.
Summary
Or maybe two very different games I’m playing right now just really wanna beat up Chronos
Anyway, looks like they finally give you all the side quests you need to finish agent skills in the endgame. I’m gonna be a little pest and cheese all those out before the final battle. Hopefully I can curb stomp!
I FINISHED DIGIMON STORY TIME STRANGER
Game stats (the game card can be useful)
Time Played: 4d 20h 27m
Gamerscore: 865/1000 (86%)
Achievements: 42/46
I’m not a completionist, so I’m pretty proud of myself. This is the first game I’ve finished since… let’s not talk about that. I also registered all 459 (I think that’s all in the game, internet sources jump between that number and 475 but it seems like the difference are dlc coming soon).
The writing felt like the Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth games. It wore its heart on its sleeve, but still managed to sucker punch me in the gut. The biggest change is how post MCU this felt (or maybe how post MCU I am with noticing it). The climax had SOOO many “On your left” moments.
There’s a new game plus and some upgrades and special challenges left; I might go back to it in time (definitely when the dlc drops since I bought the ultra super max F you money edition). But I also took the time to get to max agent rank 10, finish all the side quests (that actually took no time at all compared to previous games (getting around is a lot easier, though I’d still love a true open world and far less loading screens)), and digivolve “further beryond” many times. So I’ll probably chill for now. [super spoiler] [spoiler]
Just finished up Pacific Drive last night after trying it on a whim - great game. Really enjoyed maintaining and upgrading my truck - the developers really did a great job making you feel connected to this hunk of metal throughout the game.
I do have a complaint though - I felt like the second half of the game kinda lagged behind in the savaging and crafting side of things. There was a pretty large section of the game where I didn’t really make any substancial changes to my car, and when I finally started finding the materials to craft the best range of parts I was already at the end and didn’t really need it. I searched online and found a bunch of people had a similar experience or just never even came across the materials needed.
Additionally it felt frustrating there was no real progression in the locations you explore - a set of cabins at the start of the game felt much the same as a set of cabins at the end of the game, and so on. Some materials you need throughout the game and there is no real easier way to acquire them as you get further in either - so you gotta keep going to these samey locations.
Finished Hades 2 (the main story at least). It’s honestly a stranger experience and feeling compared to Hades 1 because I got 2 in early access on Steam vs 1 when it came to Xbox in its super complete version. Already Hades 2 has gotten some rather significant post launch story changes in its most recent update. And the whole thing. I don’t know playing in early access has made it so I completed much more of Hades 2 and put more hours in than 1. But I’m also left feeling more hollow about completing the game because like, even before full launch I had been clearing MULTIPLE runs with the full vow of rivals (hard mode bosses). And how I unlocked things and story beats was much more spaced out. Honestly, I’m too impatient to have not gotten the early access version, but I kinda wish I didn’t know it existed until it came to Xbox. My experience with Hades (1) just hits so different.
Satisfactory - still doing the tutorial but really fun so far. It’s really gratifying getting a production process up and running. My factory line is beginner level crude. I’m guessing all of those sweet setups you see in promotional videos will take hundreds of hours of experience. But the early game baby steps are fun.
Finished Keeper yesterday and loved it! DF casually released one of the best looking games ever…loved the game in general as well, it keeps things fresh gameplay wise until the end and it’s fun to play! Can’t wait to see what else they are cooking!
Also playing VF5: R.E.V.O WS online with a good friend of mine and we are having a blast, game plays amazing and online play is stellar. Besides that I will get back to Silent Hill f, I believe I can finish it until SH2R comes out at the 21st.
I bought a Switch 2 over the weekend. I started Mario Kart World and I I fired up Mario 3D World / Bowser’s Fury for the first time. I am enjoying Mario Kart World and 3D World. Bowser’s Fury is the one that I didn’t want to put it down though.
Almost done with Destiny 2 for now. One more intrinsic for the Graviton Spike and I think I’ll put it down until Renegades hits. One of my good friends that has co-oped the whole game with me has zero interest since Edge of Fate dropped, so it’s been tough getting back into it.
Continued Eastward. It’s the perfect game to play over the cloud on a smaller screen (mini iPad + Razer Kishi v2). Could just be me, but I do feel like there are less hitches over xCloud than before. I almost forgot I was streaming it.
