At this point most of the Xbox “insiders” have gone back and forth so many times seemingly covering all bases that I’m not even listening to them anymore.
The only “leaker” that has actually stuck to their word was that one from GAF who I believe brought this whole thing to light initially in December, a month before anyone like Jez or Nate had even mentioned anything.
Newsflash: no leaker has a perfect record, and you have to be able to use discernment to distinguish if they are acting in good faith or bad faith. Nate owned up that he messed up on this and his info regarding Starfield was wrong. It is what it is. Not a black and white situation.
Dude, I love Jez and don’t hate on him like some people here but surely he can understand that Nadella taking the company to 3 trillion means he ought to be trustable? Nadella publicly admitted killing Windows Phone was a mistake but that’s good on him (I’m not a Nadella fanboy and I think the Lumia 925 is peak mobile phone). You wouldn’t see Google or Apple owning to their mistakes like this.
Anyhow, kinda disappointed Jez has sowed seeds of doubt discourse and is now abstaining from it like we’re the ones overreacting.

I’m not really interested in the console war side of things and who’s a fanboy on either side, I’m just saying SneakersSO has been consistent and his info matches what was in that Discord leak (which so far has nailed everything else).
Not saying they are credible as sources, just more highlighting how the Xbox oriented insiders are absolutely all over the place with this.
SneakersSO isnt a leaker. He is a fanboy and 5 or 6 months ago said he thought Xbox should go multiplatform because the console wasnt selling.
I’ve watched him do this for nearly 8 years now.
He did it constantly on Neogaf in 2016-2018 claiming Capcom had several PS4 exclusives which never materialised. He pretty much stopped after Xboxs first round of acquisitions.
He resurfaced on Resetera in 2020 trying to spread FUD, but some users remembered him from GAF and sent him packing. He ended up banned from Resetera.
What happened was Shinobi mentioned As Dusk Falls wouldnt be the last Xbox exclusive to come to PS5 (in early December) and hes been running with that ever since. He dislikes Xbox and wants it to fail and will lie ad nauseam behind a veil of faux insiderism.
It doesnt match that leak. Hes parroting it.
Lots of them lost perfect record with PS Showcase 2023.
It’s not about a game being shit, I don’t think much about a game until I play it and generally is either not for me or I would decide to give it a shot later.
The issue is that this move will devalue Xbox as a platform, as Sony continues to pay devs to keep games off Xbox while Microsoft gives them all their games. This will have a negative effect on how many consoles they sell, which hurts game pass as the console users are the majority of game pass subs. Losing current customers and slowing down on sales altogether, which means less 3rd party sales which could lead to losing more 3rd party support.
Sony and Nintendo are also not going to allow game pass on their stores because that cuts into their 30% take from all games sold. If all of this comes to pass, Microsoft is than losing even more money on hardware that no one is going to buy because the competition gets all their games with the add bonus of getting even more content that Xbox will not. Which at that point, Microsoft would likely just write the hardware off and not make anymore.
I already say above to another user why i think Xbox is doing port to other consoles. They need to make more Software money as the Hardware make them literally no money. They lose money with each Hardware sold in fact. We can argue why this and that is not good for Xbox, but the bottom line is that the console hardware is losing money.
Not saying he was perfect but I don’t think he can come out and judge the temperature of things considering he started all this and now has to say he was wrong on something when it was only 2 days ago he said Starfield was on the list. To me at this point I would probably say Timdog was right in saying these leaks were controlled leaks. Go out and say the whole shebang is coming and then pull it off with only a few and with time exclusivity. Makes it look like Xbox stopped something totally destructive from happening.
just wanted to follow up with some posts saying XGS stay exclusive, Bethesda and ABK go multiplat, Xbox gets everything day one game pass. sure hope they add more than that if that’s the route they take. Phil has always said if they’re doing multiplat there will be parity. hell no lol Xbox should get some additional shit. maybe additional discount on DLC and microtransactions beyond the normal 10% rate. exclusive skins. yeah, don’t lock out entire game modes or whatever but add some unique cosmetics that don’t affect gameplay
I think most people in the hardcore gamer bubble don’t realise that they’re just a drop in the ocean. I’d guess that 90% of gamers are unaware of this whole thing and 99% don’t care.
I’d also guess that any given company is willing to disappoint 1% of their existing userbase for a chance to double their overall userbase. And that includes MS and Sony.
Sorry. It just infuriates me years later that the guy is still pulling this shit and causing doubt among the Xbox community and I’m the only guy who remembers.
So is Sony, which is why they have raised their price on everything to compensate after stating they were making money on their consoles sold, why they’re going into GaaS to have a consistent money-making game.
This isn’t new and hasn’t been new for every generation of Xbox or Playstation, but Imo, devaluing their product in hopes of making more money on another platform isn’t going to end up like Microsoft thinks.

Maybe but I doubt it. I won’t he surprised if they announce their streaming box since this is supposed to be a hardware announcement. A streaming box at 100 dollars that comes with all the major Game subscriptions like Game Pass, Nvidia Geforce, Ubisoft, Luna and even PS+. I do also have to wonder how any Xbox event would be after this. If they alienate their fans I doubt anyone would want to attend this shows.
I don’t think Sony is losing money on their PS5 Hardware anymore. They were losing money for like the 1st year or so, not anymore. Xbox on the other hand have never ever made any profit from hardware console sales. That is since the very beginning. From 2001 first Xbox to now. You really need to look at things. The only reason Xbox is still around is cause Microsoft pump so much money into it. Xbox is not selling like PlayStation, never will. People need to be realistic. Stop trying to compete with Sony in gaming and just do it own thing. That is what Xbox is trying to do now. People need to let it go with the Xbox vs PlayStation stuff.

When posters asked if he had been vetted by the mods, he would say he was, but never had been.
He spent many weeks claiming Sony had an exclusivity deal on Marvel Vs Capcom 4 just like Streetfighter. Didnt happen. Websites reporting the rumor used him as a source as i recall.
