Review | Redfall

Not everything needs a conspiracy theory. Sometimes you just drop the ball with a project. It is what it is.

Redfall is the 12th most played Xbox game in the US.

Even with all the hate, it still charted pretty high. Just below all the live service games and Jedi Survivor.

I mean its going to be played by a lot of people. Its on gamepass and was a major release. I expected higher. Star wars is a 70 dollar game

It’s also Star Wars.

Most Played is sorted by time played and not number of players

Posted something similar in another thread. But for me this debut pretty much lines up with the truth honestly, not as horrible as people are making out, but not as great as people hoped from Arkane.

Weapons expert (and apparently a vampire expert too) sizes up Redfall weapons, in a non-judgemental, non-ranty video.

No one can deny that the weapons look great and the shooting is satisfying.

Lockjaw Shotgun, My favorite weapon in the game.

I wanted to ask, since I haven’t left the guest area yet(I know I’m moving at the speed of molasses), but are the vampire dens suppose to spawn in the first map?

So far I have only done about 5 missions but I have been running around collecting stuff(finally a good shotgun ) and fighting vamps, but I ha e put about 5 hours to the first area.

Yeah im going slow as well. They do spawn in the first area, i went through a couple last night.

Have been playing Redfall with headphones for the majority of the time, and the sound design is really good. Loads of details which add a lot to the atmosphere. Im not someone who normally focusses on sound, but I noticed it because it really stands out. Coming from Cyberpunk (i just love buggy games i guess) and switching to Redfall, its a big difference sound wise (and Cyberpunk is not that bad on that department)

In the spirit of going super slow and doing one mission at a time, I just did a mission where I got attacked by 6 vampires and a bloodbag. They weren’t even part of the mission, but they kicked my ass after I managed to kill 4 of them.

So, I respawned at the safehouse equipped the stake launcher and got some pay back, I also went to the cemetery and fought my first mini boss? the stake gun is just so good as against vamps, I just wish we could get a rocket launcher, like a stake gun but no need for so much precision. Now on to ESO to enjoy some dungeon crawling with my heavy attack build before it’s nerfed.

I find that the stake launcher and medusa, plus some strafing, takes care of a group of vamps pretty quick.

I’m playing on a low difficulty as I have so little time that I usually try to rush my way through games as there is so much to play on Gamepass that it’s the only way I can finish some games in a decent amount of time. But anyway, like you said, sometimes stuff like that just happens where 6 vampires, sometimes in some missions I’ve seen even more, will just jump at you out of nowhere. I’ve seen it also mixed with a Sniper and sometimes in the span of like 5 seconds I’m down and dead for some reason.

I find the game can be really weird at times where it’s like super easy and then all of a sudden you get owned super hard and you never expect it.
