Forza Horizon 5 has now surpassed 23 million players (+3 million since E3).
Comparison with previous games:
- FH5: 23M in ~10 months
- FH4: 24M in ~24 months
- FH3: 10M in ~23 months
Forza Horizon 5 has now surpassed 23 million players (+3 million since E3).
Comparison with previous games:
Probably over 25 million
When they announced the 18m number the leaderboard said it was around 16m
Makes me wonder what numbers the next game will achieve with the growth of Game Pass and console sales and overall market. Forza had 10m or 15m at launch? I remember Halo had 20m and Forza was lower.
Such a shame that Halo Infinite had a stellar launch (for the amount of content they had at launch) but then fell down.
Yeah, itās baffling that they launched Infinite with zero Live-Service pipeline in place to sustain the great momentum they had. Donāt know what was the plan.
50 million+
It is even more baffling considering that the game supposed to launch 1 year earlier.
Doubt. I think it is gonna be 30m depending on when it launches.
FOCUS ENTERTAINMENT (FR0012419307 - ALFOC) (Paris:ALFOC) and Asobo Studio are pleased to announce that A Plague Tale: Requiem gathered more than one million players worldwide, a week after its release.
1 million mark:
Innoncence: 13.5 months (copies sold) Requiem: 1 week
PC?
I recently bought a Gaming PC with an AMD 5700g CPU, 16gb DDR4 Ram and an RTX 3070Ti GPUā¦Iād say that was more than enough for next-gen gaming. Millions of similar specced PCs out there in the wild as mine that will run Starfield etc alongside the Series X/S.
PC will likely have more than half the player base of Starfield, if not 60-70%. BGS naturally always had more of their fanbase on PC anyway, and X/S are still gonna be a small base in 2023 compared to PC, but that could also depend on how demanding and optimized it would be on PC. I personally have no idea of the share of PC players that have theoretically next-gen ready PCs, is it in the 50million+?
Thereād be millions of rtx3000 cards in PCs worldworld alongside AMD GPUs from the same generation, anything with RTX 2070 and 2080 or the AMD equivalents alongside intel 10 series/AMD Ryzen 3700 CPUs would be in and around the capabilities of the series X.
You also have the ability to stream the games to your PC via gamepass if you have a weaker PC I believe.
Starfield will be absolutely massive come next summer.
You could yet Iām doubtful xCloud will represent a significant number of the overall player base of the game. I
Starfield delay could be more beneficial than simply getting the game polished. PC app is undergoing more changes and improvements. xCloud could see improvement as well down the road as well as implementing the mouse/keyboard functionality. Improvements on the platform could lead to making room for comfortable experience for Starfield.
Thatās a good count for a game that doesnāt count
I think it will suprise you how many people will try it on Xcloud before splashing out 60 quidā¦especially those in the middle of a recession and inflation skyrocketingā¦ especially if it is running with a latency that you can live with on a single player game.
Would love to know some 3rd party numbers for some games.
You canāt use Trueachievements as a measuring stick but you can use it to gauge how much a game is being played by hundreds of thousands of active xbox users on that site.
Happy for Asobo, Iām sure Requiem will do much bigger numbers than Innocence in the long run and they likely got a nice check from MS to launch it on GamePass so they probably made their money back by now anyway, I also imagine that it wasnāt a very expensive game compared to most AAA games, curious to see where they take the series to next, definitely NOT hyped to see where they take it though, Innocence left me wanting more, Requiem left me kinda indifferent on if it will continue or not but thatās a topic for another thread.
Xbox Series console sales will probably be at mid 20s million by then and then thereās PC where Starfield will have a huge audience on Steam alone, Console + PC GamePass, Steam, Xcloud and Console/PC sales will easily put it above 20 million in the first 2 months, can reach 30 if the game scores very well, a high 90 would only serve to hype it up even more.
So according to various gamerant and other articles, back in 2011 when it launched Skyrim sold about 16.6 million copies in the first month (1 billion $ in sales), about 3.5 million in first 24 hours (and another 3.5 the following day), and had a concurrent steam count of 280k on the first day. It looks like it took a little over 2 years to hit 20 million.
Fallout 4 sold 12 million copies the first day, had about 244k twitch viewers on launch day and 470k concurrent steam players within first 24 hours. Theyāve been cagey about actual numbers since then but a little over a year after launch said that Fallout 4 was their highest selling game which implies it had sold more copies than Skyrim at that point, or a minimum of approximately 23 million copies in a bit over a year.
So if weāre looking for player counts now, I do think 20 million in 2 months including Game Pass and PC Game Pass users is quite possible.
