I missed this reply… all I have to say is, I don’t believe Ryan made that up, that guy has been in the industry for a very long time and has interviewed some high profile people, quite clearly he has many connections in the industry and it isn’t hard to see why some Xbox employees wouldn’t be happy with the statement Phil made.
We’ve talked about this in this thread a bunch of times. First what Phil said has been misconstrued for views by tons of people that want to push the “Xbox Bad” narrative. It’s sad to see someone that’s covered Xbox for so long do the same thing. Ryan had made multiple statements that have been dubious at times. I’ve given him the benefit of the doubt before but now it’s clear what it is. He’s just farming engagement. He really doesn’t care about any brand outside of Tesla. So I don’t believe him at all. Second what Phil said was true. Some people will never sell their PS5 and pick up an Xbox and that’s ok! Xbox won’t beat Sony by being Sony. They have to do it their way and that’s what I want them to do. He didn’t say that they aren’t going to make great games. Look at the lineup that we know about and I’m way more excited about it than I am Sony’s lineup. Yes they gotta get them out there and he said that. I want a leader like Phil that takes criticism and doesn’t throw his team under the bus because that’s what great leaders do! Phil was honest about the issues and didn’t deflect.

I mean that should have been a red flag for many to maybe not take things this person has to say about Xbox too seriously but alas…
I mean Jez has had some head scratching takes in the past ( none of the level or turn Obsidian into a support studio but still…) but he at least has some juicy leaks from time to time. What is Ryan bringing to the table concerning xbox exactly?

Honestly I don’t know and I used to listen to unlocked every week. No one is gonna be 100% right but my god at least have a clue. The worst part about this is the trolls take this as an achievement.
