It’s still a good deal if you are family sharing. Otherwise, asking for the same price as Xbox Live and PSN, offering a fraction of the games and a far worse online infrastructure, is simply not worth it.

Nintendo would never actually put switch games on their online service.
Its just absolute laziness and greed. These are the same games they’ve put on older console VC.
Nintendo got their ass bitten with the wii u. Something similar is in the horizon. Were at a point now where switch hardware is poor and dated. It will only get so much support and will rely 1st party only.
A lot of third parties are just putting cloud games on it now. It’s embarrassing.
Wow. Surprised that no one here has posted in this topic for over a year since many people here own a Switch.
Anyway, reason why im reviving this topic is because I just bought the Switch OLED model, Pro controller and four games (Captain Toad, Super Mario 3D World, Kirby’s Forgotten Land and Mario & Rabbids: Sparks of Hope) off Amazon.
Oddly enough, a few weeks ago on the XboxEra Podcast when Nick was talking about the Kirby game and it was being shown, I liked what I saw and became interested. Next thing I know im watching Captain Toad gameplay walkthrough for like 15 minutes and Sparks of Hope.
Should have everything by Friday excluding the Pro Controller which will take around 10 days or so to get which kinda sucks but oh well.

Super Mario 3D World really surprised me in a good way, and it oddly felt like a more direct sequel to Super Mario Bros 3 than Super Mario World with its shorter levels, over-worlds, and mini-bosses.
Bowser’s Furry (which comes with 3D World for those who may not know) is also really special. I think it is much better than Odyssey which leaned way too hard into the collect-a-thon genre for me.
I played Super Mario 3D Land when I owned a 3DS in 2011 or 2012. Forgot which year but never completed it and 3D World was on Wii U but I was never going to buy a Wii U (lol) so it being ported to Switch was great for me. I did own a Switch from November 2017 to September 2019 but decided to get t back since there’s a few games I missed out on.
Really looking forward to 3D World and all four games in general.

I play my switch the least despite it being the easiest to play.
Im still waiting for that switch 2. Obviously ill play TOTK. Im hoping they announce new hardware.

Very unlikely, but Sin & Punishment 3 would be amazing.
I think Windwaker and Twilight Princess are likely to show up.

I reckon we’ll see a Zelda teaser, an announcement for a Tears of the Kingdom direct, the last expansion for BotW popped into the Expansion Pass sub.
As for other things, maybe a new trailer for the Mario movie, Metroid Dread DLC, Pikmin 4 release date, next wave of Mario Kart.
More fanciful, we could see Gameboy for NSO, the Zelda and Metroid collections, and maybe Kid Icarus from the Wii U ported over.

I pretty much agree with the already posted hopes for first party, so some third party games I’d like to see are:
- DQ3 HD2D
- Octopath 2 Demo Available now
- Raincode release date trailer
- Atlus finally getting back to Etrian Odyssey Next

Ive got my fingers crossed for another 10-15 independent farming games.
Looking forward to see what’s coming. Just had my first kid so right now my switch is getting a ton of use. Shockingly easy to hold baby and use the joy cons. Holding baby and my Xbox controller not as easy lol

So i just got done beating prime remastered today. It wwas one of my all time fav back in the day but more so now
What an absolute fucking masterpeice of a game. This is the sort of game that would still get 9 and 10s today.
Its a shame more games didnt follow the prime blueprint on level design. Weve had tons of 2d metroidvanias but not enough 3d ones.

How are you guys feeling about Pikmin 4? I thought 3 was too easy, and I’m not sure about introducing a “dog” to 4.
I’ve never played a Pikmin game, but it looks fun, so I might get 4 to try the franchise out.
