That was a pretty blah direct, and I usually like these things.
- Getting Kirby for sure. Looks like it has the potential to be the next Mario Odyssey.
- Bayo 3 looks great and her new look is
- Splatoon 3 looks likeā¦ well, Splatoon. I enjoy the series so Iāll get it. I feel no difference after that footage though
- Thereās been plenty of Metroid trailers by now, so I just tuned it out. Iām getting it though.
- Castlevania Advance is a nice announcement though itās on Xbox
Kirby and Bayo are the highlights for me.
- Aināt no way am I paying an additional fee for old ROMs. That shit should be a free addition to my current sub.
- Making multiple announcements of announcements was dumb.
- Did that Mario movie stuff really belong in the Direct? That was like 7 of the 40 minutes spent on not video games

Guess this is why weāre never seeing a N64 mini.
So a couple of thoughts, in no real orderā¦
- The 3D Kirby game looks great. Loved Crystal Shards on the N64.
- Speaking of, hey, that game is coming to the N64 collection with the expanded NSO offering! Itāll be interesting to see how they handle upgrading your subscription, since itās not a monthly subscription, you have to buy months in bulk. Mine runs until May 9th! Iām thinking $30 a year is the sweet spot for me.
- Iāll only be interested in the Animal Crossing update if they include another upgrade for the general store.
- Wreckfest on the Switch? Yes please! Well, maybe please.
- Splatoon 3 looks as bonkers as ever.
- And finally, two new characters and courses for Mario Golf? Gonna have to boot it up tomorrow and give them a go.

Truly wonder wtf this will be all about. Still going with Xcloud, which really is quite big for those only with Switch.

I saw the trailer on my YT feed moments ago and I canāt find any Xbox version anywhere. How itās possible? Itās not a huge deal, but at the same time itās ludicrous when a MS owned IP is not on Xbox and on other platforms. If you go on Steam you can immediately see the MS trademark, lol. This is even worse than the timed only Mechwarrior 5 exclusive, they cannot even lock down the console version? Meh. Sometimes Xbox is really unfathomable and this is not a console warrior thing, itās only a matter of brand awareness.
Triangle Strategy looks wonderful and I canāt wait to play it. Only thing making me hesitate is that they might pull an Octopath with it and stick it on Game Pass later. Should we wait?
I was hoping the Switch reveal of Disco Elysium might result in a subsequent tweet about it coming to Xbox on the same date, but nothing yet as far as I can see. Hopefully itās not too far off.
BOTW2 is allowed to look a bit dated because its open world and will probably be amazing to play like BOTW
However Iām going to say this as a HUGE Bayonetta fanā¦Iām not impressed.
Normally when we move forward in time so do our favourite games and series as they are moved to new consoles. Bayonetta 3 is coming out 7 years after Bayonetta 2 and it looks exactly the same. My worry is the game will run at 720p as its going to target 60FPS which is the only way to play the game
Iām sorry and I donāt care what anyone thinksā¦people are criticising Sony and MS for putting games on PS4 and XO because last gen is holding next gen backā¦The Nintendo Switch is holding back a lot of these franchises from truly realising their potential. 1st party games like BOTW2 you can sort of excuse due to the nature of what they are but games like Bayonetta 3 need much better hardware to be the best version of what they are.
Iāll still play it. Iāll still enjoy it. But the game looks like a 360 game. Lets be fucking real here. Its like Mass Effect 4 coming out today and having the same graphics and animations as Mass Effect 3.
Iāve said this before a million times. The switch is a great handheld but its a mediocre outdated home console.
And fuck MS and Sony for not funding Bayonetta Franchise. Seriously. No way this franchise should have been Nintendo exclusive. You can excuse Bayo 2 as that was still amazing for its time. And Iām a Nintendo fan. Iāve said in the past. If MS, Sony and Nintendo put out a console equal in Power Iām choosing Nintendo over both. But thatās not the case. Nintendo has been a secondary console for 2 generations now post Gamecube.
To be fairā¦how on earth would Charles Martinet be a good MArio if MArio has a lot of dialogue? The guy canāt act. If MArio only had small one liners and just say MARIOOO for the movie then sure Charles would be awesome.

But surely there are actors out there who can not only replicate Charles voice style but put it into an actual character.
Yea its odd I wouldnāt be surprised if there is a new mario game whether itās 2D or 3D to release fall 2022 as a sort of way to promote the movie
Yeah this is a positive step for Nintendo that silent characters are finally going to start talking. Iām pretty sick of silent Link and Mario hope Nintendo gives all of its characters voices sometime soon.
BotW will still look good 10 years down the line, cuz the game prioritized art direction over sheer fidelity, and from the trailer it looks like botw 2 will build on that. Its just the resolution that the switch shall suffer extremely hard with.

I would be shocked if BOTW2 isnāt ported to Switch 2 or a Switch Pro for better performance. That game looks like the sort of game you launch a hardware upgrade for.
