New Game+ Showcase 2026 (Live Now!)

The only showcases I’ve gotten to watching live (or recorded) in full from start to finish are Xboxes. The past several years they’ve done a really good job of having a nice flow, focusing on the games, and not overstaying their welcome. From what I hear Nintendo Directs also do a good job at that, but a lot of what’s on a Nintendo direct doesn’t pertain to me (so there’s the platform bias I guess). In general I’ll just take the recaps posted on any number of gaming website. Sometimes the standalone trailer will pop into my YouTube feed.

A roundtable talk show podcast host style gaming show sounds… interesting. Actually no, it sounds really difficult to pull off. Even if it were just game trailers back to back, that’s a LONG time to demand people’s attention and 45+ games means such a big hodgepodge. I like that there was “a” show this early in January, and that we also got all this information; I also didn’t watch it, and it sounds like I wouldn’t have enjoyed it if I did . For a multihour “podcast” style show with a lot of developer interviews, everyone had better be oozing so much charisma it sounds like they’re drowning in it, and they better all have the best chemistry ever all while somehow magically bringing ever developer into the fold.

It’s not like ads alone are why people are tired of the Keighley shows. New game plus sounds like a really good name for a “developer interview deep dive”, which if they were going for that, cool. Sounds like they could’ve just been clearer about that. I’m sure there is a crowd that just wants a multi hour podcast of interviews and conversations. That’s just… not really a showcase. If anything that’s the after party or like when you ambush a creative director after their showcase and record them answering your questions.
