While I acknowledge the final season was definitely rushed, I mostly enjoyed episodes 8x1, 8x2 and 8x3. It started getting unforgivable with some of the choices after that. And you’ve probably heard a ton of bitching about how dark and hard to see everything was in episode 8x3. I feel like it had to be people who watched on their phones or small screens. I had no issues seeing it on my medium sized Nvidia monitor
Alien Earth episode 7 was the defenition of pen…ULTIMATE!
Seriously awesome episode

It’s definitely unfortunate that they couldn’t have an ending that had everyone happy, but I’m definitely getting curious about it and looking forward to it, and the same time I’m not looking forward to it because the show is just so damn good I don’t want to get to the ending too quickly and savor it, basically.
Just saw The Lion and the Rose again, and well…
I had completely forgotten that Joffrey already died this early in the show. Years ago I remember I jumped up from my couch and actually cheered because the horrible asshole finally got what was coming to him. Oh man, him treating Tyrion in that scene the way he did…
The fact that a fictional character can anger me as the viewer that much means the actor did one hell of a job. He truly is amazing as Joffrey and from what I’ve heard he’s a really chill guy in real life, haha. Just amazingly well casted.
I have mixed feelings about The Long Walk. I saw it opening night with my dad, at his suggestion. I didn’t particularly enjoy it as a movie but I am very intrigued by its themes, especially when considering when the book was written. And maybe that’s the point? You aren’t supposed to enjoy it? Like Okja? Not really a spoiler but the ending differs significantly from the book, like The Mist. Arguments will abound as to which is the better ending.
Last week I finally finished Game of Thrones completely.
I definitely agree with people saying season 8 isn’t all that, it’s not bad but I don’t find it great either. Some stuff…nah!
Especially the way Arya is able to just magically sneak past the zombies but especially white walkers and sneak up on the Night King. Nah man. I’ve no problem with her being the one to kill him, but not like this, ridiculous.
Also really started to dislike Dany, but I guess that was the point. I am okay with how it all ends though. One thing is for sure, once the show starts doing things its own way, moving away from the book…I definitely noticed it just wasn’t on the same level as before anymore.
I watched Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair in a semi-legal way. I didn’t know this thing even existed. I hope it gets a release someday outside the US.
just started that Monster: The Ed Gein Story on netflix. It’s not bad
I just watched Tron: Ares, I don’t want to spoil it or give thoughts (though I will say I saw it in I a and would have 100% preferred if it was just a Nine Inch Nails music video for two hours with no dialogue). Anyway, only posting because I’ve been playing Digimon and the entire time I was watching the movie I just kept wondering why there hasn’t been a Digimon and Tron crossover.
The movie got me rewatching 2012 Tron Uprising cartoon (what got me interested in Tron as a kid) and man, I’m loving it so much. I hate that it’s short lived. Also Disney+ is weirdly missing the first episode. Oh and this show is dark. Like it probably gave me nightmares as a kid. They get away with so much (literally multiple random deaths every episode) because the characters are all just “programs that are deleted”.
I watched the first episode and the odd voice really stands out. It got me wondering if the real Ed sounded like that, he didn’t. Found a video on YouTube of him talking and I don’t know why they decided to have Charlie use that odd voice.
His acting is great though, I know him mostly from Sons of Anarchy and he’s hard to recognize here.
Yeah I really only know him from Sons of Anarchy. He seems to be pretty good in this. Near the end of episode 1 was quite disturbing
Creator of Breaking Bad and Better call Saul. Rhea was awesome in BCS, so I’m having high hopes for this.
November.
Ed Gein was gr8, the series. U must watch the Dahmer one, in the monster series.
Like is oh so popular, i just dont get people determining their opinion on a series or movie based on ‘decisions’ in a plot. U watch it, u either do or dont like it. Their is no plotline choose ur own adventure narrative thay exists.
Stuff based on true stories will always wreak havoc as to what is real or not. But is people want true stories to be on film, its always going to include made up unknown elements, otherwise it wont be long enough or interesting to be put on film in the first place.
@Staffy - have u watched Alien Earth, a yay or nay ? I find ur taste similar to mine still.
That is one I really need to start with, Alien Earth! I will do this soon.
The same with Daredevil Born Again, have yet to start with that.
Yes, Dahmer is fantastic, Peters acted the hell out of that.
She was one of the few highlights of BCS. It’s weird how much I loved Breaking Bad, including Saul as opposed to how much I dislliked Better Call Saul, mostly because of how boring I found so many characters to be. None more so than Saul. That said she was great, as was Nacho, Mike and Gus
Here’s hoping Pluribus performs more like Breaking Bad than BCS
I watched the pilot of Alien Earth and it starts off really good. A nice build up of things, interesting characters and story already and the new thing(s) is done very well.
Saul boring? Oh damn.
I really grew to like several characters, such as Howard, especially later on and I really enjoyed the stuff happening between Jimmy and Chuck too. Tuco, Hector Salamanca etc, all so we’ll cast and acted. I thought the show started slow but super entertaining and funny and got better and better and more serious.
When that show was announced I was like nah, why? But Gilligan sure proved me wrong there. Now when I hear that name I pay attention.
Cheers m8. Might have to fire it up during this blissful annual leave sojourn
Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy
Four episodes in and I find this rather good. And as much as I enjoyed Ryan Murphy’s Monster shows about Dahmer, Ed Gein etc, it’s clear that plenty is overly dramatic and made up too. But this one feels more realistic and grounded.
They made the right decision to focus not so much on him committing the actual crimes, but rather, the impact on the families of the victims and those around him. The actors who played him and Elizabeth Piest were phenomenal.
I do like that it seems more realistic and grounded, but I can’t deny missing it a little that so far we don’t even seen Gacy meeting his to be victims and thus crimes. It’s only episode 4 for me so far because SkyshowTime doesn’t have all the episodes at once, so it could change.
In Dahmer i found that the feeling of dread and suspense was high during scènes where a victim was inside his house.
