List of FPS Boost Games

They have the heutchy method already, but I do think they are waiting for direct ML super resolution to be ready to enable. That way they can focus the grunt of the GPU in doubling the framerate and use ML upscaling for higher resolutions. And for games that already reach 60fps they could opt for increasing the resolution instead. And if possible a mix of both.

Dishonored in 60 fps runs flawless for me on XSX.

It’s hard to know how much integration into the pipeline is needed to get DLSS-like solns to work. I’d think it can run fine so long as the frame is done doing other rendering, which would be the case for BC stuff running at lower res. The other thing to consider is some older games tied their animations to fps, so running them too fast can cause issues potentially.

A ton of EA games have been announced to be getting the FPS Boost, with almost all aside from Sea of Solitude being 120 FPS!

I have also converted this thread to a full list of FPS Boost games, so if you ever want to see the full list, you can check here.

From here onwards - they might focus on Gamepass games first.

Little disappointed to see an EA-focused list of games but no Dragon Age Inquisition or Mass Effect Andromeda. I still think they’re coming though.

Yeah, especially when they accidentally mentioned Dragon Age Inquisition for FPS Boost, I think.

Kind of insane how many 120 fps games Xbox is having and it’s just going to grow over time

I expect the new additions to be clustered since Microsoft is seeking permission from the Developer/Publisher to allow for FPS Boost. This is done after they determine if it’s compatible with FPS Boost and so they don’t step on any Developer/Publisher plans for native updates or patches.

I feel like someone here already explained this to me but is 120hz the same thing as 120 FPS? Great to see old games getting some love!

Basically yes. Hertz/Hz means “cycles per second” so it can describe the frequency of anything that cycles.

Do you think the ‘off by default’ tick is indicative of the resolution being reduced to achieve the 120?

Yes, that’s exactly what it means. Expect the One S resolution profile instead of One X basically.

Really disappointed theyre focusing on 120 instead of 60. The market for 120 is tiny.

There’s so many great xbox one games that can barely run at 30fps. They need 60fps boosts asap. 120 is nice. But how many people have 120 displays?

I was convinced they were going to make a priority out of Sunset Overdrive upgrading to 60fps. It seems like such a cult classic and it would benefit so much from that higher frame rate.

Also, I’m holding out hope that the Gears 1 Ultimate Edition remaster is going to be getting a 60fps update, along with that 4K update they showed off over a year ago to Digital Foundry. Not sure what’s taking so long on that one, but my hope is that it somehow gets both upgrades.

While I agree, I think there could be some logical reasons for batches like this. These games were easier to boost could be one reason. Another factor may be the impact of cloud gaming. 120Hz further minimizes latency and maybe they plan to add EA titles to the cloud catalog.

Everything looks so smooth at 120 hz. Thanks to the team for all they are doing. I wish they’d do something with the Dark Souls games tho.

It’s all about which game has the best chances of success.

And

Where the game sits on the list.

It’s a work in progress thing. One by One.

Yep, sadly DS3 is stuck at the 900p/30fps limbo…although DS1 and DS2 at 120Hz would be freakin’ awesome.

Titanfall 2 is gonna be crazy at 120hz. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Supposedly there is a way to circumvent the resolution drop when applying FPS Boost.
