his twitter looks way happier now than a couple of weeks back. will be interesting to see what he is working on (beside his gravel bike).
make that Darklands spiritual successor Josh
This sounds exciting. Canât wait to see what they have going on.
Scottx2:
Obsidian is going to prove to one of Microsoftâs best acquisitions isnât it? Theyâve already had success with The Outer Worlds (which likely result in a sequel), Grounded has been huge so far, Avowed is going to be massive and now there is a 4th project in the works.
After the fun Iâve had with Grounded so far, really interested to see what another âsmallâ project from Obsidian looks like.
Look at what they achieved with The Outer Worlds on a AA budget. With MS funding, Avowed is going to blow doors off.

What do you mean by this? was he not happy before. Excited to find out what the game is.
After Grounded I actually I favour for small projects that could be potentially a great hit.
See what fall guy did.

Amazing, Joshua is an amazing director. Although I would have preferred him working on a bigger project this still excites me.
Letting their teams have these smaller passion projects is a superb strategy.

It seems Sawyer is working on a historical RPG, set on our very own earth.
Does bring up the question, how will the 200-250 people at Obsidian deliver on all of these projects at the same time? Grounded and Sawyerâs project arenât very large it seems, but whenever The Outer Worlds 2 goes into production (I expect that to happen looking at Bootyâs comments how that could become a franchise), how will they manage it?
The Outer Worlds was made with ~70 people I believe, but I expect them to up their game in regards of scope and polish for the second installment.
Outsourcing, a metric shit ton of it

this is legitimately insane, itâs basically a goddamn publisher in its own sense like Ubisoft or EA lol
A bit concerning on some level, but it makes a lot of sense given the Game Pass focus for Xbox, needing volumes of content at a steady pace.
I suspect not a single studio in their roster (outside probably Undead, Turn10 and Compulsion) is working on just a single game.
In his blog post about his daily routine he mentioned interviewing people or going over resumes in nearly every paragraph. From that, I take it theyâre hiring.
