I know you’ve already uninstalled, but the game opens up some as you unlock new weapons and abilities. You upgrade weapons, get new movement mechanics (like… dash) that make the game much more enjoyable.
Anyway, it isn’t for everyone but just my general comment for folks that consider dropping it early.
Like I’ve said before: MS is using GP as an alternative to exclusives or basic marketing rights. Instead of offering developers exclusivity deals, they offer them a “Game Pass Marketing” deal of some level and let them release their game elsewhere. Developers get money just like an exclusive/marketing deal AND get to benefit from the hype by selling on other stores too. MS wins with GP subscriptions and the cost of the deal is the same or probably less as traditional exclusive/marketing deals.
MS found a way to make game deals that not only benefit both parties but also wins them positive press instead of negative “bought exclusivity” press. Not that they still can’t do those too of course.
To be fair “part of the success” is accurate. Release dates and competition are factors. Shouldn’t take away from the success though. I’m still pretty early on in High on Life, and I enjoy it so far. I’m somewhat bogged down with season passes from other games and just the busyness of December which leaves less time for gaming. Hopefully play more of it soon.
I am pretty sure that most of the people who play this game don’t play it due to starvation or anything. And console sales show that People don’t play list wars.
eh, I am not rolling with the bolded because even on PC it’s onSteam’s top 5 sellers ahead of games like fifa and god of war. I am not the biggest fan of the game, and think it’s just decent, but it’s obvious this game appeals to many and its not just popular due to starvation of xbox exclusives
The game performed well in both xbox and steam marketplace. However, I don’t think this game would’ve gotten the time of day if it didn’t launch on gamepass. I felt gamepass was the key marketing to get people to play the game, and word of mouth influenced people to buy on xbox and steam.
I can tell some people who played but didn’t like it probably dropped it before you get the other guns and abilities that really bring enhance the core gameplay. Again think of this as Metroid with Rick and Morty humor. Honestly wasn’t expecting this game to be as good as it is.
Eh…i dont the level design is anywhere neat a metroid. So not sure where that comparison thing is. Ill give it another go at some point but tbh its the style of the game that turns me off. Im a very introvert quiey person so games that have essentric humour dont do it for me.
